great vid, answered lot of questions before considering putting one on my brand new Softail Standard, this winter am wanting to get DNA bars or the Harley Chizzled bars installed. I am more of a ride around town guy, never yet reaching speeds of 70, just love the power and get up of the 107, again great vid

Nice review. I’ve tried several fairings and always seem to have buffering issues. The best fairing I’ve found that works for me is the Harley clamshell fairing. Not too big not too small and the least buffering I’ve had out of about 4 different types of fairings lol.

My 11" light smoked windshield should be here today. I have the 15" on right now and I LOVE it, but it is slightly too tall for me. Making technical roads with blind hills tricky because the top of the windscreen is right in my line of sight. Great for cruising long distance on interstates, but I need the shorter one for leisure rides. I DEFINITELY need to check on the mounted angle because my fairing whistles soooooo bad. 🙌

Love this fairing! Great video on comparing the 2.

Great detail on your review. Fork lowers really make a difference regardless of your windshield height. I used the Memphis shades mounts and used a set of metal Harley deflectors which are much narrower but still effective. The wide Memphis shades fork deflectors look terrible. I can also take them on and off for long rides easily with one screw. Just a thought. Thanks for your efforts on a good review...

Just joined channel and with my 2009 Dyna Fat Bob with dual headlights I looked for a while at fairings and ended up with Memphis Shade Batwing. I think they have a great product.

Great video. Looking at these and this really helped.

I have a stage 1 softBob with an HD Cafe with a laminar lip. I love the look, and the wind is cut down substantially. I wanna raise it a little bit, slight buffeting on my head but not as bad as without the lip. I'm 6' and have the HD two up bevel seat(club style) with FWDs

Installed the 13" smoke on my 2012 Fatboy lo. Might actually go with 15. Super easy install and great look.

Great review on the Road Warrior and shield heights.

Thanks for the review. I have one on order and went with the 13 inch non-vented. I am hoping it works out, but I may need to buy a second one for around town. I am slightly taller than you so maybe it will work out.

i personally love the look of the fairing. I think it pulls the bike together really well, just a blank front end and just the headlight just looks incomplete to me.

I put a Memphis Shades gauntlet fairing on my Sportster as a joke and to be ironic. After I took it off I missed it, now I have two bikes with gauntlet fairings haha. The wind off the chest is really nice on long rides.

I just wish you could keep the stock speed screen on under this to swap out for highway vs around town because I don’t love the club style look everyone’s fxlrs immediately turns into. I love the stock look. But your review of the windscreen swaps makes me more interested in it now

I know this an old video but for those that may be having issues w buffeting. The windshield height is usually the biggest factor, however there are other things to consider. A vented windshield can slightly reduce it, and there are "anti-buffeting" kits out there to space the windshield slightly away from the fairing, lots of people swear by this. Lastly, if you're getting a lot of buffeting from below and you're not a fan of fork deflectors, tank lifts can reduce buffeting while simultaneously keeping engine temps lower. Just thought I'd share.

Also for the fairing and windshield, the angle can play a significant role in buffeting.

Another consideration is before you invest into a windshield is to make sure you have your seat dialed in. If you get your windshield height dialed in and then change your seat out your going to have to reconfigure your windshield again! Also you should be looking over your windshield and not thru it, which why your seat height is important to have locked in. The vent on windshields and H-D bike is to eliminate the negative air pressure that builds up behind the fairing/windshield that causes most of wind buffering experience

Dead on. Get the seat, pegs, handlebar height dialed in first. Big difference in the wind buffeting challenges

I'm running the same fairing on my Dyna except I got the 13in for summer and I got the 17-inch for winter

@TheMakarov9 hows the 13"inch shield treating you? Are you using the stock seat of the fatbob ? Or do you think 15" shield along with stock seat is s better buy ?

I've wanted the 15" Road Warrior fairing for a while, but they're pretty expensive. I have a sport glide so like you know, the mini batwing fairing doesn't do much. And me being 6' 1" I definitely feel all the wind, which usually I don't mind, but I ride all winter in Connecticut so I know that 15" will help A LOT!! I tell my fiance all the time what I want to upgrade on my bike and she just tells me to start stripping or become a gigolo 😅😂😂! Great video bro🤙🏼

got it on my road king.....they're badass.

I have a 16 fatbob with the 15”, imo the Fatbobs with the double light or even the newer light bar style, look way more aggressive than single light bikes. Works great for me I’m a hair under 6’ but do notice buffeting at intermediate speeds

A fairing is definitely a look that grows on you.

I have a removeable Memphis Shades Rio Grande windshield doesn't require a fairing and it's pretty good.

I noticed those very, very nice OG exhaust from the iron 883 sitting all so lonely on your work bench... J/K, I gotta poke a bit. I know you'll be hangin them up on the garage wall for display. Cheers brotherman

Damn BLOCK! How many bikes? I was just happy to see the 883 ❤️. What do you use on the denim paint? I was thinking of TopCoat F11 (along with windex)

Put one of these on my bike. Freeway speeds I wouldn't be without it. Around town I think car drivers pick up the bike quicker.

I have a 17 inch Memphis Shade slim windshield on my RKS but get wind buffeting at 80 - 90 mph at the top of my helmet. Wonder if they make a vented windshield?

Most definitely helped me, I was actually going to go with the 11” but I think I’m going to get the 13”. I’m a little over 6’1” and I don’t like to loo of the super tall shield so I think I’ll most likely get the 13”er and see how it works for me. Great video! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

How can one know the right height that is good for them?

I can't find a video anywhere that shows how to install the sportster 1200 custum mephis shades road warrior faring. Is there any advice or tips to installation for that specific bike?

I have an windshield that’s like a click on click off system I’m 194cm tall and it seems the right height for me but on the Highway it’s buffenning like hell and it will hurt the ears even with earplugs in!! so for me it rides way comfortabler without my screen hahah

Man can you tell the difference between VENTED and NON VENTED ones, what are the benefits of those vents? I do find them lookin cool but what are they doing actually from your experience?

What bar/riser set-up are you running?

Dirt bike style gloves with even the real thin leather palms is enough protection for a good spill on pavement. so if ur hands ever get to hot u can lighten the gloves and still be protected. I'm still wearing my mechanics gloves even after a good skid. Rocks hurt like hell tho

I've got the Roadwarrior with the 11" non vented. Thinking about going up to the 13". Or, maybe even just going full batwing for longer trips.

Please answer blockhead!! Iron 883 with mid controls vs low rider S with mid controls, which one felt more cramped? I ask because I have a 2017 iron 883 now with mids, planning to upgrade to low rider S soon, I'm 6'3 140lbs, I feel fine on my iron 883. Just curious if the low rider S is more cramped because the lower seat height

Low rider s feels more cramped than Iron 883. I am 6 ft tall (184 cm) , i test rode LRS , few min before that i was sitting on Iron883 on a showroom floor. I own a Street Bob FXBB and i feel waaay less cramped on my FXBB. LRS foot pegs are higher i guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

6’ 3” with a saddle man step up. What size windscreen should I look into getting for the long trips doing 80-90? @blockhead

I LOVE the look of the fairing and the whole Club Style. I do not like the look of the "holes" on the front of the screen. That ain't for me.

I dig the look without a windshield haha

I wonder if the 13” vented would be the perfect combo.

That's exactly what I was thinking, no unanswered questions then man,

Note to anyone making or commenting on a windshield, if you don't provide your height mentioning the height of a windshield is meaningless. Simply saying "the 13" was perfect for me" is no help unless you include your height in the comment. Without the creator mentioning that he is 5'10" this video would not be very useful. At 5'6" the 11" would probably have me looking barely over the top edge of the windshield so the 9" would be the way to go for me.

Hello! Thank you for the great video! I have a ‘21 low rider s with Memphis shades road warrior fairing with the 13” screen. My question is what kind if helmet do you wear while riding? When I ride on highway the wind and buffeting are so loud I have all vents closed in my helmet and I’m deaf by the time I get home plus headache from that noise. I may need to go up to a 15” screen for highway but then I’m 5’8” not as tall as you. So it’s so confusing. When you are riding and recording I can hear you perfectly. I can’t hear anything other than wind noise that is deafening. I tried music and talking to others on in the group on communication devices but it’s not great. And my shit is always top shelf I’m not sure if it’s the height of the screen or maybe it’s my helmet. I went from a super sport to HD and I still ride in my Arai as I had no chance to get one that ‘goes’ with the FXLRS. Even still Arai is a great brand doesn’t go with the theme of my bike but it’s good. I’m slowly swapping my gear over tho. Made some mods to the bike first and have a couple more yet to do. Any ideas? Wind screen or helmet? Thank you kindly.
