It’s a good bike and become much better after customizing. I’ve changed most of the parts on it, installed 16”Ape’s and chrome grips on it; the rubber once was too sticky and I got a blisters . Not riding with the gloves in a summer ) , highway pegs, highway lights, solo eats,v&H pipes ,mirrors , blinkers .... and the tail spike . Agree with you the short bar uncomfortable. If I have an option to choose one one from above , first and most O wold change a factory handle bar to an Ape’s !
I have a bike like this. And a 3 inch over fwd kit to move the pegs is a must
