Harley Chopper - Loud, Fast, Dirty - San Francisco - $OLD, Thanks Martin!

I'm selling my baby... because we're having a baby! Dad for the first time, finally willing to let go of my chopper.
For sale is my SPCN 98ci Harley Evo. Clean title, current reg.
Lots of goodies and custom bits, some vintage, some I made on the lathe, mill, english wheel, and tig welder. Kick only, but will include the solenoid and starter if you want to go that route. I'm 165lbs, and need to put all my weight into kicking it over, but feels so good to kick this bike.
This bike is terrible for city commuting, but perfect for getting out of town and going for an adventure. It'll also most likely annoy your neighbors, just want to give you a heads up.
It's been ridden to Born Free and back, feels great and comfortable during long hours, will do burnouts super-easy, and lift in 2nd.
Hate to let her go, but it's time. Hopefully another great project will come along in the future.
The details:
POWERPLANT
- 98 cubic inch, dual-plugged custom motor
- Delkron cases
- Axtell big bore cylinders
- STD performance heads (really high compression)
- S&S super G carb (super G, this bike hauls), mooneyes air cleaner
- 4-speed ratchet, rebuilt, NO LEAKS
- custom oil cleaner/cooler
THE REST
- 6-over frontend, wide glide
- narrowed bars
- custom 9" risers
- frisco'd p-nut tank: channel lowered, cap relocated
- vintage lamp, clutch lever (shortened), Anderson pegs, shift levers, etc. (from my '72 sporty bucket)
- Primo Rivera pro clutch, and dry primary, NO LEAKS
- vintage seat and custom p-pad
- shorai li-ion battery (so light!)
- super skinny sissybar, perfectly hugs rear wheel
- custom machined and cast "brick" taillight
- bates rear fender, chopped
- 21" front, 18" rear
- rear disc, dual-caliper
Hope you find what you're looking for!
Peace,
Jon

I'll never understand why some guys do that. Just because you have a kid don't mean you have to sell the bike, car or boat. Keep the toys.

Haha I bet your neighbours LOVE you! Very cool chop. I agree never give up your bike for anything. I’ve had a Harley since I was 19 and now have 3 as I’m about to turn 50! And raised a daughter who’s now 20. Ride on.

did you have to modify ratchet top trans to work with the evo? also what ignition are you running for kick only?

  • @chopchopcustomshop3632

    @chopchopcustomshop3632

Hi Sal, thanks for asking! The only mod for the ratchet top was to mill down the thickness of mounting plate by a few thou, and shim the motor with homemade aluminum can shims. As for the ignition, since I didn’t build the motor, and I kept the dual-plugged ignition that came with the bike originally, I don’t know the setup. Sorry about that! Sounds like you’re building something, and if so, hope it comes out awesome!

Late to the party here but do you remember what the rake was on this chop? I’m guessing 35 degrees and no down tube stretch?

Hey Dewalt, love your tools - I don't know the rake or the frame exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was a Paughco Rigid Straight Leg, not the wishbone. The tubes are 39mm 6" over with shaved lowers. Hope that helps!

hYeah BoAh, thanks for the encouraging words! For the frame, since I bought it from someone who didn't know the history very well, I think it's a Paughco Rigid Straight Leg, not the wishbone style frame. The rear wheel is a Sportster drop center 18" rim, and the tire is a Firestone ANS vintage: www.cokertire.com/tires/450-18-firestone-ans-motorcycle-tire.html. Hope that helps!

    what brand is that exhaust?

  • @chopchopcustomshop3632

    @chopchopcustomshop3632

    5 жыл бұрын

Hi @Jenne 88, the exhaust is custom built: chopped and tigged the straight pipe portions of a shovelhead exhaust, rotating the slash-cut end slighlty more on the rear exhaust. Are you working on a build now? Let me know if you have any more questions, happy to help.
