Great video. I used this to troubleshoot and replace mine today on my 09 nightster. Pro tip: standard auto fuse works perfect to jump those connectors when testing. I did not have to bleed my brakes but I did add a little more fluid.

Another way to test the switch would be to check for continuity use a ohms meter with the hydrologic brake switch still connected to the brake circuit connecting the ohms meter leads to the switch and set to continuity with the ignition on push the brake pedal if you don’t get continuity then the brake switch is not working properly

Hey thanks for the video, as far as the cases go.... there is a product called Pig Spit that you spray on there and it will bring the engine back to black. Harley also makes a product i think is called engine brightener that works almost as good. On the baggers the floor boards will get discolored if you get certain cleaners on them and ive found the Bag Brite brand of leather conditioner works great on them.

Really nice job my back went out but my front is working. Once again thanks saved me well over 100.You got a really nice bike I know that cover can be upsetting. I once had some blue pipe and guy once told me to use some 1200 grit wet sand and brought it right out.Im not suggestion you use it to bring cover back. But maybe try a small section at 1200 grit it won't leave any scratches. Once again thanks for the video.

Just so people know, it takes a 17mm wrench. The part number is 72023-51E from Harley and are the good ones made in Italy, not the cheap Chinese or Taiwan ones. (P.S. I responded before watching all the way where he shows you the package.)

  • @TonyTheTruckGuy

Ugh, that one really pissed me off. They were TOTALLY fine until I listened to a buddy and sprayed some degreaser on the engine. Took a few minutes to get the pressure washer set up, and by the time I rinsed the degreaser off, it had stained the case like this and wouldn’t come off even with a pressure washer. Thought about spraying the whole damn engine with it again so it would at least all be the same shade/color. Buuut I ended up selling the bike. I have a night rod now. I don’t know of any surefire ways to fix your issue. I’d suggest a google search or try something like brake clean or wd-40, but I can’t tell you what affect that might have.

The fittings is made of steel and you’re not tightening it to 500 ft lbs. crescent wrench is fine. No other wrenches or thread tape handy, so you do what you can. It always amuses me when people who watch a video to learn how to do something comment on how to do it better 😂
