I have this guitar now for I think 2 years. In between it's dark purple and has no pickup rings anymore. (I even had a Killswitch in it once) All in all I have to say that she's pretty amazing. Yes, the floyd does go ot of tune after some time, but it's not that bad, especially for that money. I mean you get a floyd rose guitar that works very well for a little over 100€. Thats amazing.

Hey Cory.

Bundenden abrunden z. b.

if you are a new player I wouldn't go with a guitar that has a Floyd Rose style Tremolo system installed. These are a pain to work with when it comes to string changes. Generally speaking, try to get a guitar that has a fixed bridge, so no tremolo system at all. Here are three guitars with fixed bridges within the 200 (+-) bucks price range: ESP LTD MH-10 - 220 bucks Ibanez GRG121DX-BKF - 190 bucks Ibanez GRG131DX-BKF - 190 bucks Those are guitars you can be happy with for years to come.

All in all.... a very good guitar for its price. :)

Sir, you are RIGHT about the TREM in this guitar. The trem is a genuine Floyd trem ( it's a special ) that has had the tunning spinners colored GOLD instead of BLACK. That is why you won't find this TREM on the Floyd website..............this trem is ONLY made for the Harley guitars (also SHECTER have it on some models). Harley buy this trem in the thousands........and so Floyd give them a special deal and adjust the COLORS so it does not look same as TREMS on the Floyd website. (But yes.....it's a genuine floyd Special.......with a color change) The trem is indeed BUILT by Floyd rose.......not just DESIGNED by floyd rose. So this trem is NOT the same as 90 percent of similar trems you find in global guitars where it says LICENSED BY FLOYD on the metal..............those trems are NOT BUILT BY FLOYD FACTORYS The Harley trem is BUILT and DESIGNED by FLoyd. The way you can KNOW is because the STAMPED WORDS on the metal will use the actual FLOYD ROSE font of lettering and the small "R" which means REGISTERED TRADE MARK. So the letterring used for the worlds "FLOYD ROSE" is their LOGO lettering FONT and has the small "R" above it. That means the TREM is a GENUINE FLOYD ROSE .....BUILT and DESIGNED by Floyd Rose

7:45 You got that right; and for this exact reason, now I just avoid Floyd-Rose guitars. Fun fact: Long time ago, when I was 14 or 15, I got my first guitar with Floyd Rose. And I wanted it to be "easier" to manipulate, so I just removed 2 springs. I could never ever again got this guitar properly set and in tune. Since these days, I only bought hardtail and regular trem guitars. Couple months ago, I decided to start my old guitars as "guitar projects" to upgrade them and set them to be ready to use... I had the choice between one with the hardtail bridge and the one with the Floyd Rose; I just started with the hardtail bridge one! Hopefully, one day I will force myself to get this guitar alive and give her a second chance and second life :)

Anyway, avoid cheap guitars with licensed floyd rose unless you are keeping it for a short time. I have a 1200€ guitar with a floyd rose FRT-1000, it shows weakness after 10years (no dive bombing etc...) Can't even imagine with a 138€ guitar how long it will last.

I love to play lots of metal, but also some clean and crunchy riffs, so guitar should be able to play everything. EDIT. Never used floyd rose before.

I don't like that the springs and block cover is not routed out, but that's ok for such a great guitar for the money, if I would have gotten this guitar when I first started playing, I would probably be a bit better than I am now parents bought me a shit guitar for Christmas, that probably was around the same price, and that thing couldn't stay tuned worth a fuck, and you could forget all about intonation, that would be a pipe dream 😀!!

I think they are turning into shielded basecoat paint on cheaper guitars.. it will work for year or two, and do not last long if you take it out to subzero temperatures. it will start to crack under the paint over spray on electric cavity . .. . Edit. Easy to check if you scratch the pain on bottom of cavity,, the shielding basecoat is graphite grey in color. and does actually conduct quite well if you check the resistance from it to pots or any other grounded part .

The only HB model that is assembled in Vietnam, not China. Because I can spot better QC work here. It is finished many times better that HB guitars twice more expensive. Of course all "by Harley Benton" cr..p must be replaces just after purchasing. But it still appears to be a good DIY pained kit for that price.
