Suzuki boi here and I swear to the budget v-twin gods nothing beats the 20 year old design of a tried and true SV650. I can buy a dozen of these moto morsels for the cost of one of your uppity services. And we all know i will because Suzuki isn’t just a motorcycle company, it’s a lifestyle. The biggest difference between Harley and Ducati is Harleys are everywhere. Every corner, every street. Even if you think you're alone on an island in the middle of the ocean, there's probably a Harley under a tree somewhere on that island. Ducatis on the other hand have always been a fair bit more exclusive, although that could be changing with their modern marketing and increased sales.

I ride a 95 Suzuki Savage 650... AND while there's the occasional twat who absolutely has to make me aware that I'm on a "Lady Cruiser"... I haven't even seen the vitriol of the stereotypical HD riders... AND it's not for a shortage of HD riders out here in the sticks, either. Weekends with decent weather get me started waving and never let up... haha... Not as many sporties, but they're just as amicable... Ducati's even fewer and farther between... BUT a lot of this "rivalry" is just lore... probably still residuals left from the Hell's Angels, who demand a DD-214 and a Harley Davidson to join. I'm sure there are other groups with dubious requisites like brand names and all... BUT i've never run into anyone who outright hated on you for the bike you ride. ...AND for what it's worth, the odd twat that brings up my "Lady Cruiser" tends to tell me a LOT more about him or her self than anything or much of anybody else. ;o)

I bought a road glide this year as my first HD. I told myself I would never do it... but I did. I've been pleasantly surprised but I don't think I've found my keeper just yet. For daily riding, I'd compare it to watching really expensive paint dry with navigation and a sound system. It's pretty good for road trips but my wife told me that my Africa Twin, that we rode nearly coast to coast and back this past summer, was just as comfortable. I think her ass is still in shock.

After a couple of years of experiencing horrible customer service from the Japanese bike dealership and dealing with serious manufacturing defects, I switched over to Triumph and eventually Ducati. Now I can go to a dealership where I'm actually treated like a human being. Also, my bike works just fine. I'm sticking with Ducati. Harleys are cool, but I only buy supersport bikes, which they don't have :(

Most Harley guys are big guys even on a full size European bike. Harley’s are made for large 6 foot plus 250 plus big boys that like the low rider, feet forward lounge chair ape riser handlebars . Many Miles of straight, flat USA highways where 20 degree lean angles are plenty amount of lean. 90 horsepower is enough horsepower for any sane person. Rpm above 4600 will wear the engine out.
