We'd love to have a Harlem Globetrotters basketball in the National Archives! Alas, we only accession records created by or for the federal government, so we couldn't keep this one.
We had a great time on March 19 hosting Harlem Globetrotters team players Scooter Christensen and Hot Rod de la Rosa at our Family Day.
They enjoyed a special tour of “All American: The Power of Sports” with curator Alice Kamps where they saw a patent for a basketball “goal” as well as a photo of the Globetrotters on tour overseas in 1950.
