As a rural community project, New Govardhana is a living example of Srila Prabhupada’s teachings regarding “simple living, high thinking”. One of the main tenets of the Krishna consciousness philosophy is vegetarianism and cow protection.
We have therefore developed an innovative cow protection program that includes caring for our cows until they pass away naturally, and educational tours for guests. And it is a rare guest indeed who doesn’t fall in love with cows after the tour experience. There are also two abundant gardens that supply ingredients for the 3 daily vegetarian and vegan meals at both the temple and Krishna Village.
So we are well on our way to living self-sufficiently. In this age, as city-life becomes increasingly more challenging, we understand the importance of developing a shelter away from metropolitan centers to provide people the opportunity to re-centre and connect with their deepest Self.

I embraced Hinduism 2 months ago, so I am a new seeker. I'm going through a rough time right now, and this lovely video has helped quiet my mind and give me peace. It was his Leela. Kauravas were wrong so they got punishment. Dhritarashtra was killed and eaten 100 children of swan in his past birth. It was his Karma.

A genuine vaishnava/vaishnavi will exhibit the below qualities to a high degree. 1) Always truthful and thus will not break vows or agreements. 2) Full of compassion for all living beings and thus will not give pain to any living being. 3) Will be charitable according to his capacity. 4) Will be clean and keep places he visits clean. 5) Will live a simple life. 6) Will be humble, kind, tolerant, reliable, caring, grateful, and forgiving. 7) Will be expert in many fields. 8) Straight forward in all dealings, never two faced and will never take advantage of people. 9) Will never be self-centered and thus will always consider the well being of others and not himself. 10) Will not care for his own liberation, he wants all others liberated first. 11) Will always work for the well being of others using his time, energy, resources, and money. 12) Will always preach the glories of God and His teachings. So that people will engage in thought of God and engage in serving and following His instructions. 13) Will follow the Vedic scriptural injunctions. 14) Will be a servant to everyone. 15) Will serve cows. 16) Will be punctual and discipled. 17) Will be responsive by responding to queries from others in a timely manner. 18) Will be willing to live in any place, because he realizes that God is everywhere. 19) Will set good examples for others to follow. “Those who are beyond the dualities that arise from doubts, whose minds are engaged within, who are always busy working for the welfare of all living beings and who are free from all sins achieve liberation in the Supreme.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 5.25) “He is a perfect yogī who, by comparison to his own self, sees the true equality of all beings, in both their happiness and their distress, O Arjuna!” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 6.32) Namo narayana Radhe radhe Hare Krishna 🕉️🚩
