Shop is real but the show is fake.

So customers are required to have a mic in order to shop there? 🤔

I would think with a lot of those camera angles we should see other cameramen. or did I miss something?

When certain cameras are rolling other cameras know to move out of the way to not get in shot

Some of these scenes are outrageous. They have to be scripted in order to keep people watching.

That is debatable if you have ever worked in retail or customer service you can 100 percent believe there are absolute cunts of people out there I’m from Australia and let me tell you I’ve been abused like in this show I’ve seen first hand a meth head coming into the store I worked in with a laptop that he has smashed deadset his fist went through the screen as a result of his anger. He came in on a high and was abusive as all fuck.

Thousands of irate and violent customers over 9 years in the hardest area of Detroit and not a single punch was thrown and landed. Sure, sounds real to me.

well it was weird when on one episode a truck roared out and its back was open,but when it panned from seth back to the truck its trailer was shut,all in a matter of seconds so i think its fake

I know as well as many others that they probably deal with difficult customers all the time, but don't insult our intelligence by claiming it's %100 real. Every camera angle possible but no camera men in the shot? Over the top customers that pull the same scam over and over but always trying to out do each other? Let alone the constant editing and cuts that send you into a whip lash. This show is without a doubt heavily edited and staged, whether based on real customers or not, it's as fake as they come. I'd accept pawnstars being more real than this and we ALL know how fake that is.

There is episodes where you can see the guy holding the boom mic and the camera on some of the episodes I've been to that store I live in Detroit apparently all you Eggheads don't know nothing about the D and what really pops off on 8-mile road

I know it's probably fake but at least it's good fun ❤

There was even one scene where you can see a wireless mic pack one of the so called customers. Liars!

I didn’t wanna think they were fake, but I saw a compilation of “funny moments” and there was a young African American male that had two different “Shaq autographed signed shoes” in these two different beat up boxes and they never made a deal with the man because they couldn’t verify the signature. A few videos later I see a couple of Caucasian men selling the exact same shoes along with a variety of jerseys to a different employee. I thought “hmm those look reeeeally familiar.” And then the camera zoomed out and caught the exact same beat up boxes along with the hand shake of a deal struck. Coincidence? Maybe. But not really convincing that the show is 100% real.

They must lose a lot of wireless mic's I've seen the people that they throw out and walking out of the parking lot with the wireless mic pack hooked on the back of the peoples pants! saw it on a few shows. also how could you hear any one outside with out one?????? still love the show.

How do you get people’s permission to use their faces in the show, if some end up hating you or leaving, etc.

PepsiSardines the show is fake, but if the people are on their property, it doesn’t matter. They don’t need permission.

but I heard Seth and Ashley only arrive at the pawn shop in limos only to do there parts then leave so they don't really work there.

Sometimes I've seen the mic receiver hanging from the customer's pants so it's definitely fake. Or at least some scenes are set up for the show. 👍

this is detroit...if this was real id expect a lot of these "unsatisfied" customers to come back with a surprise for the owners. BOOM

problem is taht in many of the clips where people tilt and get throwed out u actually see the mics and the converter thingy in their belt :P

bunny fish Of course they have to sign a release form so they could be allowed to be filmed on the show. When they decide you're gonna be on the show they give you a Mic.

So much of the drama is totally fake... guaranteed

It's fake. I saw a custumer with a microphone on his back. It's very entertaining tho.

The other day i say an episode where les had a heart attack or something when he was having a hernia les fell on the floor Seth and Ashley came in but the cameras where in the same room as Seth

les heart attack ...then hernia...then seth ashley run in...then cameras in seth room... so when ash seth ran in i guess they got no footage cause cameras in seth room im so lost!

often u can see that people with a problem wear a audio system on hip..in season 6 no 5. the woman with her tv haha when u right look u can see it when she is near her car...while why sould coustomer wear microphones ...

I think the store is real but the show is an act. How do you explain being able to hear the customers comments loud and clear while they drive away or walk away. They must be wearing mics. I have actually seen the mic receivers a few times

Of course you realize, this was also scripted. If they were to tell everyone it's fake, they're not gonna be getting as many views.

They say it's not scripted but still they equip customers with microphones and boxes attached to their clothing, instead of using ones that you hover above them.

Cause it avoids having the mic boom in the camera shot cause afterall were not supposed to see the filming crew lmao they don't crop that out the recording is ment to stay as original as possible

The pawn shop is real, Les and Ashley are real but the show is 100% scripted

They are real, the store is real... even the customers look like that is real life! lol but... there is a lot of acting when they come in and act all silly.

I think it’s more real than pawn stars. At least it’s watchable

I can say that, if the shop, ain't yours...lol... Unbelievable, but I'm not fake, my words are real, so, up yours.....lol 😂

Yes.. it's a REAL Pawn shop, and the Random shots of people in the store are real, but the interactions when people lose their minds, yell and scream and act like jackasses is 100% fake. They even do reshoots of some people being thrown out. (Hence the problem customers being miked up with wireless packs). This is no reason to hate the show mind you, as I do find it entertaining sometimes. Tru TV is making Ashley say that it is real here. Almost nothing on Tru TV is real.

A friend told many years ago that, if they had a argument with a Asian ( Chinese ), they would grab a stick, why? Thanks to Bruce Lee movies, they thought that every Chinese were Gods of Martial arts. Here we see mostly the "Blacks" behaving in a manner they we see clearly, that it's "fake". Who cannot spot these comic side of the show will hate on certains people's cause of the episodes.

100% real but all the people are miced up before they enter the store... that is beyond weird. So why would Ashly lie about it being 100% real when anyone of normal intellect can se its far from 100% real.
