Hopefully you put a zip tie on the electrical tape before you button-down the ferring, I have had that come loose before and shorted out , but now I use heat shrink on everything I solder.
Not sure why you didn’t install an Eastern Beaver PC8 ? Lot’s of connectivity and more sanitary wiring. Thanks for the video!
The worst soldering job is still better than 3m scotchlok connectors long-term.

Trigger warning: fairing removal
Since the Himalayan has a wussy stator, I wired the XT to a Fuzeblocks FZ-1 (relayed power distribution block) mounted under the pillion seat, so I used all that long wire and a bunch of friction tape and a split loom sleeve to prevent chafe . Unfortunatly, without an accessory plug, I had to tap into a switched wire with a Pozi-tap but I put it on the license plate light wire rather than screw up the main harness. Works. PS It took me WAY longer to install than it took you.
What, electrical tape instead of shrink tubing!? Just messing with you, great video. 👍🏻

Shrink tubing I have. A reliable way to heat it I do not 😂 That will be rectified before any major rides in ‘23
I ran wires all the way to my battery. I probably should find a switched power spot instead.

I am lazy, I connected it to the battery. I need to take it out of the mount when turning the bike off or the battery will drain. I should get around to writing it properly in the spring. - Frank
Bin there did not do that… it is a horrible place to get to… just buy a thunderbox and thank me later…
