I feel your pain. I went through that for about 2 years with a customer of mine and I finally talked them into to budgeting to replace the mains. The building was built in 01 and this the 3rd main. First one was black thin wall second was galvanized thin wall lol and I’m putting in black 40 now. We did a 1/4 of the mains each year the past 3 years. It’ll be done in about 2 months. Right before we started this I had to replace the compressor cause it ran so much it shit the bed. Attics are the worst. Especially in the summer.

I definitely wouldn't be able to get through that access door.

Have you heard of a product called Vapor Pipe Shield? Our company just started installing it so don't have any personal data on effectiveness. For the price and what it is claiming we have convinced a few customers to give them a shot. If you have the space the install is pretty easy.

Yeah, by General Air Products. I have not installed one or know of any installed. I’ve been interested in it, just need to find a customer willing to try it out.

I’m a pretty big dude I’ve been doing sprinkler service for a long time and attics buy far are the worst part of the job especially in the summer

Just the bottom chord of the trusses. Where I’m crawling, a have a 2x4 I’m moving around.
