There is special people to hold the flag as a moral support for the troops, whenever the flags moves up forward, it'll give attention to other troops saying like "bois you guys did it" aka if the flag advances, the country will advance to that territory. It's kinda hard to explain but you got the point. It's a honorouble job, and I'm pretty sure flagmen had at least a gun or a sword to fight back, or use the flag as a weapon

I have a theory: So the reason the nether princess/Abigail is now the nether princess is quite simple. I think when in “the struggle” she got bowed in the had, it hit something in her head and she lost her memory. So General Naeus realized she was very strong he took this as chance to power the arsenal of the nether. This was done by tricking Abigail into thinking she’s a nether princess as she doesn’t remember Rain. This is shown, when in “We are the danger” and “just so you know” she has no recollection of Rain as she shows no remorse or sympathy beating up Rain not so ever. And only now i think about that- abigle maby died but why she didn't when rain kill her and his self? because he didn't got her head: all the time people died its when they lost they head and its doesn't happen in the song "just so you know" and even in the first song Abigle got arrow into her head but the her didn't got out so she survive

Bill Cipher yeh she died, the vid where she became princess was a filler between “ cold as ice” and “we are the danger”. They just destroyed her body so the nether star can be released.
