I picked up a helmet from HHV. First one delivered the retention straps were screwed in the wrong spots and so were the NOD platform. After some emails back and forth I was able to get my helmet replaced. The new one is cherry and fits like a glove. Seems the one I got was made on a Monday or something. Anyway, great helmet and support was very responsive. 5 stars recommend HHV!

Love the one that I got a year ago it feels a little lighter than I thought it would.

You forgot to mention that if your HHV helmet takes a round and you send it in to HHV they will send you a new helmet.

I was so confused for a second when he said diameter of his head....it took me a second to realize he meant circumference.

Had the same problem with it being a bit loose. I put in some ach pads and that fixed the problem.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was curious about this helmet.

@@CopperJacketTV Personal experience. Need to take off the styrofoam part on the chin strap/headband and stick some velcro tabs on the band you can use the set up in the hhv then the ARC Rails can just mount on there after pulling off the hhv rail

Why don’t you have the rear adjustment dial that tightens your nape?!

I thought that hard-headed veterans were gonna eat the ballistic helmet. Still a good review though.

I got mine in. I used guides on how to measure. I wore a small in the Marines and measured in between sizes so I ordered a medium and after the several months of waiting a medium/large is what it says on it and will not fit correctly. Just my experience.

Did the pad kit come with the helmet or was it ordered as in like an accessory separate from...wondering why they have the option on their site

HHV doesn't Cerakote their helmets. They are hydro-dipped, according to one of their representatives I spoke with.

I find the ballistic rating on popular helmets to be totally bizarre. Most scenarios where a helmet is actually needed, the enemy is almost 100% likely to be shooting rifle rounds at you anyways.

I would worry about debris from mortars and explosions more than a guy with a rifle who dings my helmet from 500 - 700 yards away.

Their new lite is just over 1 pound. as a civ, $1k is a tough pill to swallow. Weight is a huge deal so is the new mesh padding, its prob the one to get.

Unbelievably lighter than any other helmet on the market. I love it!

Mlok lol the sides are for your radio ear muffs. If you Don't have radios get a cheaper surplus gi brain bucket. They are cheap and protect 1/3rd more of your head and saved many soldiers from ak47 rounds which these won't.

The HHV gen 2 helmet accepts all of the same options and accessories as an Ops-Core helmet from rails to helmet covers to NVG/thermals mounts

I’m just gonna say it I was nervous to get a hhv helmet but the second I put it together and on I loved it better than my ops core bj it’s way more comfortable

Pretty cheap for a ballistic helmet, but DAMN that's steep.

Comes with the cheap storage bag. The one you pay for is a nicer duty bag. Yes your impact and basic comfort pads are included with the helmet however you can pay more for there extra comfort plus pads

Does anybody know if this is normal or if I should get into contact with HHV? I'm only asking because average shipping time says 3-5 days for HHV but it's been nearly twice as long.

Thank the Lord we a civillians dont need armor to get thru our daily lives but it never hurts to have an extra defensive measure if you train with it

One of the guys I was deployed with was shot in the helmet by a 762, and the bullet traveled the entire length of the helmet, exiting out the back. At certain angles it will protect you from even rifle rounds.

Remember that at long distance even a 7.62x39 will slow down quite a bit and if it falls below the energy threshold for this helmet it would stop. A 7.62 at 950fps is essentially a 45acp in terms of energy transfer

David Medina the materials used in the helmet are 100% Kevlar aramid sheets made in the USA and shipped to China where they shape the helmet. That’s all that’s done in China is the shaping. They also have a HHV American employee who is the head of the QC department in the plant there, and they are tested yearly to maintain the same manufacturing quality certifications that are held by the companies that make DOD contracted helmets for the troops here in America. I’ll buy American all day long, even if it’s a little more expensive. But when Ops Core is gouging their own soldiers and officers for 1000%+ profit margins, I’ll gladly take my money elsewhere.
