I actually really like the early front of escape play by Skyy. It gave him multiple extra checks or potential drops that can give him bombs so he doesn't have to buy any from the shop in Kak.

Possible spoilers: The thing is, even if Ridley ISN'T strictly required there is always the possibility that with all the checks there and in escape that something else that is required will be found in LN. It could even be behind Ridley.
