I got this today to work on my electric scooters, bikes, and dirt bikes while standing up. I LOVE this thing. it's freaking awesome and so convenient. Solid as a rock too.

I've got one. bought it about 6 or 7 years ago. Never had a problem with it. It has saved me no end of back pain. I'd buy it again, in a heart beat.

I bought two of 1000 lb lifts from HF 10 years ago. The only thing broken was the brackets on one of the locking caster. Otherwise, no repair or maintenance for 10 years, maybe a little wd40. Had no need to lift anything over 500 ib, so didn't stress it. During that 10 year period a lot of stuff craped out like couple TVs, couple of refrigerators, a dish washer, a washer and dryer, A/C unite, floor drill press, rollings chopsaw table and so on. Those two lifts keeps on going strong. The little lady and me unloaded 9 foot long granite slabs off the truck for our kitchen remodel. It was a life safer to replace 50 gal hot water heaters, mine plus couple of neighbors. BTW, my lifts could go down without anything on it really slow or really fast. Mine aslo have steel casters, not the rubber ones.

Thanks for the very helpful video. I ran across this video accidentally and after watching it I went to Harbor Freight last Saturday and purchased one of these Hydraulic tables with a 20% off coupon. I had the same problem you did with the down speed being adjusted very slow. My unit was so far out of adjustment I had to jiggle the cable to get the foot pump to work at all. I also will build a 24" by 36" plywood top for lawn mower repair.

Helpful video, thanks! I would have eventually determined that I needed to raise the platform to get at the difficult screws, you saved me (a lot of) time. The Insider club coupon saved me 25%. The HF staff helped me load the heavy box into my trailer, where I assembled it still inside the trailer when I got home, I rolled it down the ramp & into the garage. Mine also worked just fine.

Got one.. its a bargain! I use it in my Coffee Machine business, the machines are in two parts and using this allows me to assemble both parts without bending. Back saver! I can also demonstrate my machines without using the lower half, with the upper half in the raised position. Great Harbor Freight buy!

@@alcopower5710 So fat its held up great! I had it for about 2 years now and its doing great. The only complaints I have is that its HEAVY and sometimes the hydraulic ram slowly bleeds down because the cable is too tight or does not retract fully. (Adjustment) But it has 2 bars that come down and keep it from backing down too far. It was a good purchase.

The 16 minute timeframe on the video solved my problem with too slow dropping speed of the table. Your video showed me HOW toI adjust the cable length like the manual says but does not tell you how to do it. It takes two 14 mm wrenches (one box and one open end) to loosen retighten the clamping nut PLUS two small hemostats to hold the cable as it is adjusted in length. Thanks.

For those having problems with raising the cart, you need to bleed the hydraulic system first. From the Manual: Note: The Control Lever controls the operation of the Hydraulic Ram unit. To lower the Ram and Table, squeeze the Control Lever. When the Control Lever is released, the Ram and Table movement will stop and the table will remain stationary. Bleeding the Hydraulic Ram Note: Before using this tool, the hydraulic ram must be purged of air (called bleeding). 1. Raise the Table with no load. To do this, first release the Control Lever, then repeatedly pump the Foot Pedal. 2. When the table has been raised, remove the Filler Bolt from the Housing. Use a rag to catch any fluid leaks. Keeping your hands and tools clean, squeeze the Control Lever while pumping the Foot Pedal several times rapidly. 3. Release the Control Lever, and pump more slowly to raise the Table to its full height. 4. Add good quality hydraulic fluid into the opening in the Housing where the Filler Bolt has been removed. Fill until the Housing will hold no more fluid. 5. Replace the Filler Bolt and its Seal Washer into the Housing, tighten, but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the Washer. 6. Check the condition of the Hydraulic Lift Table before use. Raise and lower it several times before adding any load. Be sure that all controls work properly.

I've been looking at one to help move a generator into my pickup truck, and also change oil etc. My knees hurt watching the assembly, I'll lay mine on it's side to attach the handle.

Im not gonna lie, I let a few eff bombs fly trying to attach the handle.

We use this at work and we've dropped a 2006 Lexus GS3 engine and transmission assembly on to it and then reinstalled it by jacking back up into place. A really solid tool

Lowest height is 11" and it raises to 34 1/2", thank you for that. How about table top dimensions.?

I just bought this 1000lb unit, on Mother’s Day, & used a 25% coupon which bought the unit down to $195.00 Plus they gave me a 1year card for extra tools & etc......now I just need to bleed off the pump!

Dropping too slow? Need to adjust the length of the cable that attaches to the release valve on the hydraulic cylinder. To do so on my 2023 lift table you need the following. 1. 14 mm box wrenches. One for the top bolt and the other for the backside nut. 2. A couple of hemostats so you can adjust the cable length to desired length. To shorten, you move the mechanism that grabs the braided line to the desired length. First hemostat is installed. Need it shorter? Move mechanism to the shorter position. Attach 2nd hemostat. Adjust engagement point on cable again. Add second hemostat and so on. This is a “just right” length. Too long? Shorten the cable.

much like all hydraulic items, you should fill and bleed this like you would a jack after purchase, import/transport regs do not allow hydraulic systems to be full during shipping if the item is cargo. so you need to deal with that after you buy it. this is the #1 issue most people have with hydraulic stuff and the vast majority don't realize it.

@@robira1313 hydraulic jack oil, hf sells it in various sizes. 16oz will work for most. To fill, theres usally a fill port near the jack piston. Either a rubber cover or a screwed in one, remove said cover after putting jack on level surface over cardboard. Top off fluid level and undo the pressure release valve to about halfway. Pump handle 10 times, then check fluid level. If its down, add more. If you add more, pump handle another 10 times. Repeat fill and handle steps u til fluid stays near top (doesnt need to be a 100% full, just sort of close). Put cover back on and tighten valve for a basic lift test. Cycle jack all the way up and down a few times. To fully test, use jack to lift something heavy (a car you dont drive much, for instance) up just enough to say you did, measure the gap you get. Leave for 24 hours. If the gap doesnt change, jack is 100% filled, bled and functional. Filling bottle jacks is a bit different, in that the fill port is a screw near the bottom, and you fill a little bit, replace the screw and jack something up, eventually You hit a point where it stops improving how well the jack lifts (speed, how much per handle pump, etc) once you get there, its done. Handle pump step with bottle jacks requires fill screw to be installed, or you get a giant mess. Cheers.

Thanks for posting this video! I could not get that nut located at the bottom where the handles are. I gave up last night after fighting with it for about 15 minutes, I was so frustrated I wanted to load the cart back on my truck and drive down to harbor freight and just launch the cart through the window of harbor freight but I said "probably not a good idea " . So I did the civil thing and went to bed and decided to you tube an assembly video this morning. Welp, didn't think to jack up the table, felt so stupid, hahaha. Happy memorial day to you and yours!

Nice overview! I have a 600# Dayton lift cart that's getting long in the tooth. I'd love to jump to the 1,000# unit but am not sure that it will fit under my workbench.Would you mind measuring the height of the setup in the folder position? I can't find it anywhere. Thank you!!

Since I added a piece of plywood to the top, I can't fold my handle down all the way. However, without the plywood, I estimate the total height to be about 14". Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

I just saw your question and went out and measured my lift table, hope this helps. With the handle folded down on the platform, mine measures 16-1/4" from the concrete floor to the top edge of the handle. My floor's not perfect but I used a level across the handle so the measurement should be pretty accurate, with no guessing. My 1,000 lb lift table is the silver Harbor Freight item # 60438 and it has served me very well for the last few years. Just FYI if anyone buys one of these, bleed the hydraulics whether it seems to work properly or not, and fill until it runs out the plug hole (with the table suspended in the full up position). I did the above (when brand new) even though it seemed to work okay, and found I had to add about 1/2 a quart of hd fluid to mine right away (worked even better after doing this), and it has continued to perform flawlessly ever since. A shallow metal pie pan works great to catch any hd fluid that is spilled during the filling process, and leaves virtually no mess on the floor to clean up. Just wipe down the frame with a rag and you're done. Worked great for me, and this has been a very worthwhile purchase ever since.

one thing you might come to see, if you haven't already, is the weight of whatever you have on top will help with the seed at which the platform lowers. Also, I was taught that a bolt, if there's enough clearance, should always face down and the nut on the bottom. That way if the nut were to come loose and fall off the bolt would , at least, keep the two parts together. I understand that you may have gone by the assembly instructions however it appeared that you weren't. Granted all this is subject to ones opinion and personal preference, good video nonetheless.

I bought the 500 lb model today for doing small engine stuff. I had to immediately widen it. Push mowers and even pressure washers were too wide to sit on it. Other than that, it seems well made. The prices are crazy now. I paid $249 for the 500lb model. The 1000# was nearly $400 with tax.

I got one like yours. I also heard on other you tube channels that you might have to bleed the piston and the directions were clear as mud. One person actually pulled the rubber plug and tapped the hole for a bolt as the plug was difficult to put back in. On Bruce​ Pender'S​ channel on his table installed 3/4 inch plywood to it for larger machines including big 2 stage snowblowers. He also made a ramp to roll the heavy machines up onto the table. If you notice on his table the overhang on the opposite side to the handle helps in unloading from a pickup truck.

I plan on putting plywood on mine as well. One of my viewers told me that they have the rubber plug and the company told him/her to tap the hole and replace the rubber plug with a bolt. This unit didn't need to be bled. It worked well right out of the box. Thanks for watching.

On video it appears to be a decent lift table ? Ive been. Looking at these carts. Because of the low price HF sells them at and a physical injury that makes it hard to lift certain things any more

It’s slow because there is no weight on the table yet ,and the only thing helping it is that coil return spring, I would rather have it lower slowly than to over adjust the release and have premature creeping 👍🏾

This might be a stupid question but where and how to add fluid to the lift ? This is only in need for future reference thanks it was a great KZread video I just bought myself a 1000 Lbs table cart from harbor freight

I haven't had to do it myself, but I imagine you could do it through the bleeder screw.

The lowering rate will maybe speed up with 1000 pounds of assist atop the table.

Now that I have used it awhile, things work better. Only 28 pumps to get it to full height and it drops faster as well.

Hey added mild steel plating to mine 3' x 4' x 1/16" works fine for mowers etc.

I just bought one of these and found that the release valve was leaking fluid badly. Since exchanging it would be a lot of work, I took that valve apart and found that there are three seals. Two of mine were defective (fortunately they’re common O-rings) and the third needed some careful filing to fit right. Also the plug (not the Phillips fill plug but the recessed plug near the other end of the ram) was loose by 1-1/2 turns. Kind of to be expected with Harbor Freight.

It's been 5 years since you posted this video. Can this cart go over rough terrain like hard dirt and grass? If not, I can weld on a steel rod and attach a pneumatic tire on each ends like a gorilla cart. Each tire would be rated at minimum 250 lbs so all 4 would equal 1000 lbs.

I purchased mine about a year ago which came with the rubber plug rather than the threaded screw. I have to bleed mine quite often since it seems it doesnt hold the pressure and the table doesnt stay up for more than an hour or so. I called the company and was told to tap the hole and replace the rubber plug with a bolt and rubber washer. Havent done it yet but you would think it should have came from the factory with the bolt rather then a rubber plug which is a headache putting it back on after bleeding it. Other then that for the price its not a bad investment

Should ask them to ship you a new plug first. There is no guarantee the bolt will seal any better. And then how do you prevent metal particles falling down in the cylinder when you're tapping? With my luck I would end up with a broken tap in the hole. Been there, done that - no fun when tap metal is harder than the drill bit.

That rubber plug is garbage. I serviced the unit following the steps to a T, after filling her up and getting the plug back in, I had it half lowered when the rubber plug shot out so fast I didn’t see where it landed in my long grassy lawn. I can tell ya, out of all the lifts, jacks, and hydraulic units I’ve used in my spare time and on military hours, never saw a rubber plug holding back pressure. As for threading in a new screw, I bet it’d hold more pressure than the stupid rubber plug.

It says on coupon not on carts. How did you get them to take it?

Funny you asked. The 500lb table has a secondary lock but this one does not.

The 550lb unit also bleeds off overnight with or without weight on the table...

I noticed at the store, that the smaller unit has some locking bars at the bottom. With those bars flipped over, the table is locked in the upright position. The larger unit doesn't have that option.

I use it as a platform for concrete bags to unload in my mixer. I place 5 bags at a time but still after about 100 bags, my legs are about to retired for the day.

@@RealManSkills My table pumps up to 35-1/4" high, in 32 to 33 pumps max. If you've never checked the fluid level, you may find that it is low (even when brand new). Mine seemed to work fine when brand new, but I still bled the system anyway, and added hd fluid until it came out the plug hole (with the table suspended in the full up position). It ended up taking about 1/2 a quart and worked even better after doing that, and it has continued to perform flawlessly for the last few years. If the above procedure does not help, then check the linkage adjustments on the release cable, at both ends. The adjustment at the bottom might be creating a slight pressure on the interior check ball, causing you to have to pump excessively to raise the table. From the lowest position, my table lifts about 1" with every pump until about 20" then lifts about 3/4" with every pump thereafter, until it reaches the top. 90 pumps is WAY too many, so there is something wrong somewhere. My lift table is the Harbor Freight item #60438. Hope this helps you.

After buying one here's my advice. 1. Don't read the instructions. If you need the instructions, you might hurt yourself. 2. Cut all four corners of the box, I did it in my truck bed. 3. wiggle out the handle, attach it loosely with two screws, roll it on it's side and attach the screws for real. 4. Attach foot lever...Hey! there's the hex wrench. The video is probable right, I put my nuts down and then the hex wrench won't fit. I used a cordless drill with a 14mm socket and they went in fine. 5. Enjoy, it's actually very well made. The final problem was getting it out of the truck, two people would be nice to lift it down. I didn't and it fell about the last 4" but it's fine.

You should have bought both the 500 pound and 1000 pound lift tables and then used the 500 pound table to lower the 1000 pound table off the truck.

@@Kingdan2011 I tried and I was afraid it would rip and drop a piece of it in the cylinder. I gave up and it seems fine so far. I use it for my Jet mini lathe, I can wheel it outside and not fill the garage with dust. I thought it wouldn't be stable with the scissor type life but it's rock solid.

I just bought one at HF and they used this exact model to lift the box high enough to slide it into my truck!

It will go down faster when have weight on table.

Maybe you should wait till u have put weight on table

I was going to buy one for small engine repair,not impressed with that hydraulic crap. Mabe a screw type system would work better

RC Hobbyist Extreme Both of mine never leaked in 10 years. Just a PIA to pump up to maximin extension but not as bad as cracking with your arm.

I use the 500 pound capacity one in my small engine shop. Had it 2 or 3 years now. Still works great. They’re suppose to lower slow when loaded for safety reasons

Guess who ended up buying one any ways? My body is getting to old not to have something like that. I miss the big hydraulic table we had at the repair shop I worked at. My biggest complaint is the table top is too small. I will have to mount a sheet of plywood with stops to prevent roll offs. It does work great as far as getting the mower up off the ground. I didn't attach the handle to the base because it gets in the way all the time. other than that, it works fine.

YOU using this for small engine repair put a piece of 24x36 piece of 3/4 plywood with carriage bolts and a strip of wood on the back to keep lawnmower from rolling off. u can go 25" if need be

Yep, that is what I did. I bolted a piece of plywood to it and it's a larger work table now. Thanks for watching!

Bought and unboxed. Will not lift. Put on end and raised table manually. Set upright and table went to half height instantly. Push on control lever and table dropped to bottom instantly. No hydraulic fluid and it has the rubber plug. Very difficult to add oil when table is covering hydraulic tube. Will put HF in pump squirt oil can and see if I can pump enough in. Irritating If that doesn't work will Apparently will have to remove the tube to add oil. If that doesn't work, back to Harbor Freight.

Returning this unit and getting my money back. Not going to take a chance of another rubber plug. Manual says remove bolt to purge air. Ha!

Well MAYBE not. Finally got table to lift after bleeding air for 2 hours, Pumping like mad. I have to snap release the handle and then it will raise the table. Likely need to adjust the release setting. Loads of fun this weekend. Great exercise for legs.

I needed this as a tech tool. But then realized it would be pain lifting this up and taking it inside homes. Over stairs or something. Big No from me.
