Harbinger is still ok, i guess

Safety overrides makes harbinger good again, still lack of 3 system charges massively limits dps. Died at the end, but im not doing this again, it took like 15 tries, and usually cr was running out on last radiant so this will do.

I had some mods but nothing really crazy, it is 100% vanilla build.

    It's only SO that makes it usable after the nerf, and it's still worse than useless under AI control. Between SO and phase anchor, phase ships have about half the OP to use now.

    Are you some kind of masochist? Why do you want your favorite toy to be nerfed to the ground? Harbinger is already suffered many nerfs, and the 0.95.1 has put the last nail in his coffin. Without SO Harbinger is completely unusable, if compared to other ships of the same DP. I just don't get it, guys. Why would you want your favorite toy to be completely stomped? It is a singleplayer game, not multiplayer. You don't need everything to be balanced.

    @@user-xl6ot3cy2r - It's the low tech crowd. They'll say low-tech is best tech because they can put SO and a pair of assault chainguns on it and smash through everything, but then turn around and say high-tech is too OP and needs to be nerfed because you can put SO and heavy blasters on some of them.

    Coil stress isnt that bad, but removing 3 charges from quantum disruptor was awful

    @@SusanoRipper afflictor is best normal phase ship now, then doom probably, harbinger is here just so you can swap it for ziggurat early, i just hope alex doesnt remove its universal rear slots, that would kill this ship

    I don't really like the design of Phase ships. Changes the dynamic of the battles too much, especially in the hands of humans. Good video though

    what the nice my whole fleet with end game stuff got wiped out cos of one of those big ships that phase teleport. tele away when i ntrouble nad teleport forward for kills. man I never used this phase ship or weapons before . need it. and here i thought those teleporting remnant ships were the best

    if you wanna be optimal, just missing a cryoblaster and two antimatter SRMs instead of reapers. whatever you gotta drop to get them, totally worth. dont really need shit like high scatter and solar or extra vents generally, just cap

    Nah, if you want to fight solo vents are extremally important, they allow you to stay mobile, solar shielding really helps with drone dmg, it helps armor tank those burst pdlasers. I doubt sth like this could be done with your build, but it probably performs better as support/hullbreaker

    @@Kuba_K naw, ive solo'd plenty of radiant fleets with the setup i've described. i disagree that vents let you stay mobile. thats cap, not vents. vents reduce the duration you need to spend outside of phase, and help ease the in-phase hard flux gain. however, especially when running adaptive phase coils, cap directly = maintained speed. as long as you have the cap to move out of range to vent out of phase, to recharge, i genuinely think vents do not add anything of value. if you find that you don't have enough time to move out of range(which cap provides), sure, vents will help you dump faster thus reducing the amount of time you need to tank shots while within enemy range. however with good cap, you can always just move out of range instead. not saying vents arent good, but they arent as good as proper weapons and cap. wasnt saying solar isnt good either, just that a single cryo easily triples or quadruples your dps, and thus is more than worth dropping solar for. i mean to each their own. ive personally put a ton of time across many playthroughs on harbi's (i think its the best vanilla ship to pilot, including zigg and radiants simply due to how much faster it makes fights in a players hands, while radiants ect do fine on their own) and i used to run vents as well, but now i think they really only add comfort/ease of use to the playstyle, not power/strength

    @@Kuba_K no im not sure. that depends when those nerfs came in. i havent updated my game in a few months. what did they change about stress and harbi ability? if testing, id drop solar, and high scatter if youre using that now. cryo prio, SRMs really just for ease of use and ending battles quickly, they arent 100% mandated as they dont do much to big ships but the cryo hard carries that aspect. man that thing needs a nerf. cap with leftovers

    @@omniscientindisplay7217 it is pretty old nerf, latest version came out like 10 months ago, harbinger now has long cooldown and only one charge, and it slows down the more hard flux you have so if you have like 70% you become pretty much immobile

    Not really its still 18DP for ship that cannot tank damage at all. For similar costs you can get hyperion with much greater survivability and mobility and similar damage output. And ai really struggles to use quantum disruptor, sometimes it will use it just to retreat instantly

    ​@@Kuba_K Yeah it might not be the best ship for the ai to handle, but it can 1:1 a conquest. It's important to have only pulsars because the ai seems to go for the engines that way at all costs. It's a bit gimmicky as it will need the correct amount of dissipation, capacity and speed or the ai will not start performing the proper maneuvers. (ideally diving right through but that's only really accomplishable with an ai shade) It will perform differently in a group scenario, but it will still completely utterly disable anything it meets, as the ai does mag dump properly. It's an exceptional monitor exterminator. As with any ai phase ship, it will do really well until the ai fucks up and dephases into instant death.

    @@h4xorzist i noticed that with harbinger specifically ai will try to target engines, but due to ship speed it will run out of flux basically getting stuck in enemy ship then retreat and then unphase in enemy weapon range. Happens very often especially in larger battles.

    @@Kuba_K Yeah that's why the pulsars are pretty much the only ai build due to the pulsars fully disabling the enemy ship so it does not matter much if the ai dephases at the wrong time same goes for the shade with it's built in emp and missile defenses.

    @@Kuba_K Also like I mentioned before the ai only performs well when within the optimal flux / vent / speed (this one simply goes up) parameters as it has a predefined playstyle, and the ship has to match that. Given these settings it will perform some rater remarkable maneuvers.

    @@Kuba_K Hey I saw you write something about this elsewhere but cannot find that comment now. Anyway, I believe you said something along the lines of "you can either do this massive combat skill point stacking or you can go green tree for officers and better economy". I'm very tempted by that latter strategy as that is kind of what I'm going in my current playthrough. Could you elaborate on that? Like which skills/ships/officers etc. do you recommend.

    @@m3rc333 starsector reddit probably? So the strat is to go for full leadership skill tree and then take some industry and tech skills completely forgoing combat tree. I would recommend sth like: (tactical drills, wolfpack tactics, crew training, Officer training, officer management, best of best) + (Navigation, Sensors, Gunnery implants, flux regulation) + (Field repairs, polarized armor, makeshift equipment, containment procedures, hull restoration) This skill layout will allow you to have superior logistic profile (cheap fleet, easy exploration) and will allow you to have incredibly powerful fleet, The only downside is it will be super boring since you shouldnt pilot powerful ship yourself (without combat skills it would be dp waste) You can also forgo some logistic skills to get automated ships to even further buff your fleet combat performance. And why it is so powerful? Well you get 3 smods, additional fleetwide buffs to performance and 10 lv6 officers (normally it is 8 lv5). Keep in mind that, amount of officers impacts deployment point distribution between you and enemy, so having +2 officers is really big difference. For ships, most are good but notable ones are: hyperion, scarab, monitor, heron, mora dominator, eradicator, onslaught, aurora, eagle. Just try to keep composition. (slow ships are best with other slow ships and bombers, fast ships are best with other fast ships)
