नमस्कार दोस्तों आज हम आपको अपनी इस पोस्ट में उत्तराखंड में स्थित एक ऐसे गाँव की कहानी के बारे में बताएंगे जो उत्तराखंड का हर्बल गाँव कहलाता है।
यह गाँव है घेस गाँव जो उत्तराखंड के चमोली जिले में देवाल ब्लॉक में स्थित है।
उत्तराखंड हिमालय की तलहटी में कई नायाब और नैसर्गिक सौंदर्य से भरपूर गाँव बसे है। घाटियों से लेकर चोटियों के बीच इन गाँवों की सुन्दरता सभी को मोह लेती है। हिमालय के बेहद करीब इन गांवों में आज भी लोक संस्कृति , रहन सहन , वेशभूषा और परंपराओं से जीवित है।
ये गाँव चमोली गढ़वाल के देवाल ब्लॉक में स्थित है, देहरादून से ऋषिकेश - बद्रीनाथ नेशनल हाईवे पर कर्णप्रयाग से इस गाँव के लिए सड़क जाती है, कर्णप्रयाग से ग्वालदम नेशनल हाइवे पर थराली तक जाना है। उसके बाद थराली से देवाल ब्लॉक आता है, और फिर देवाल से आगे घेस गाँव के लिए करीब 32 किमी की दूरी पर त्रिशूल पर्वत की तलहटी में बसा है।
घेस गाँव के लिए एक प्रसिद्ध कहावत है, यही तो है घेस जिसके आगे नही देश। ऐसा इसलिए कहा गया है कि यहां पर हिमालय के बाद चाइना तिब्बत बॉर्डर है। पहले घेस गाँव में ही हिमनी , बलाण शामिल थे और इससे आगे फिर हिमालय स्थित है।
.. गाँव अब परंपरागत खेती के साथ ही जड़ी बूटी का उत्पादन भी शुरू हो गया है। ग्रामीण कुटकी , अतीस , कुटू , पुष्करमोल , चोरु , वन ककड़ी और चिरायता जैसी जड़ी बूटियों का उत्पादन कर रहे है सबसे ज्यादा उत्पादन कटकी का किया जा रहा है जो 15 सौ रु किलो बिक रहा है।
Ghes village some farmers of (2300-2500 m asl, Chamoli, Uttarakhand) were motivated by the High Altitude Plants Physiology Re-search Centre (HAPPRC), Srinagar-Garhwal, Uttarakhand, for introductory cultivation of P. kurrooa. After creation of the state of Uttarakhand in 2000, legal and policy issues for cultivation and marketing of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) have been effectively ad-dressed4. The Herbal Research and De-velopment Institute (HRDI), Gopes hwar, Chamoli has been assigned by the Gov-ernment of Uttarakhand for promoti on of MAPs4. Currently, a total of 50 farmers in Ghes are cultivating P. kurrooa in about 5 ha area. In due course, the non-government organizations (NGOs), Utta-ranchal Youth and Rural Development Centre (UYRDC) based as Narayanba-gar, Chamoli and Dunagiri Foundation based in Goa were encouraged by HAPPRC and HRDI for export of culti-vated P. kurrooa from Ghes.
P. kurrooa from Ghes was ex-ported to the United Kingdom with the collective efforts of an innovative farmer, UYRDC, DF, HAPPRC and HRDI. If the same quantity, i.e. 253.00 kg P. kurrooa were sold in the Indian market, the total profit may have been around Rs 113,850.00 or US$ 1696.47 (@ Rs 450.00/kg or US$ = 6.70, the current market price for P. kurrooa). Therefore, the gross profit is almost 3.34 times better from export of P. kurrooa compared to usual marketing. Cultivation of medicinal plants takes high inputs in terms of manpower and time, and also, export of the produce of CITES species is still a challenge6. P. kurrooa is enlisted in Appendix II of CITES and a Legal Procurement Certifi-cate (LPC)7 is required for export of CITES species. Farmers cultivating P. kurrooa in Ghes are registered with HRDI and on this basis, transit-pass (permissi on for transporting cultivated produce up to national destination) has been granted to any buyer to whom farmers want to sell the MAPs produce.
