Happy new year, my dear Iris... I saw on Insta that you are knitting socks too - so happy to see you do 🥂🌹💛💛💛💛 with color work watch out for the "tightness" - maybe you will have to use few extra stitches to cast on.... also socks knitted with color work will be thicker, thus warmer

I know Carla, I need to return to editing videos and start posting them!!! I still need to knit 2 pairs of socks for couple of people before I return to my unfinished projects.... and then start making more videos.... baby steps - other than that I am fine, but very tired of this virus thingie... I want it gone, not sure it will happen though... unless someone has a magic wand 😂 xxxooo

@@HandMadeRukodelky Yes certainly baby steps. Take your time! Your followers are here for you. I totally agree with you on the Covid situation! It’s been 2 years and it does seem to relent. I miss my family, I miss my friends and I going out to lunches or perhaps dinner at times. I have a slight fracture in my left wrist, so I’m no longer crafting until it heals, it’s been a very slow process in healing because of tendinitis. I’m praying it will heal in its own time. (No fun for me right now) But when I do feel better your tutorials have been saved to enjoy. Have a beautiful day or evening 😌🕊🌹

I just loved that video..i also love making socks..right now i am knitting socks with an after thought heel, do you have any tips for measuring the length for that type of sock pattern?

Hi Mary, thank you!!! Yes I do have a tip - measure the length of foot (toe to heel) and then deduct approximately 2 inches for the heel - so for example if the foot is 8" long, then starting at the toe area (and including) knit 6" and then start your heel, make the heel and then continue with the leg part 🍀🍀 I hope this helps 💛

Happy New Year!!! I have started a two at a time toe up sock with a turkish cast on but haven't gotten very far.....it's in my WIP pile. Do you prefer toe up or toe down and which heal method do you like best?

Happy new year Carol, I love to knit top down, because I made so many of them that way - I could say I am lazy to do it toe up, or with afterthought heel ... I am sure if I would put my head to do it in other ways I would love those as well - I think people are "afraid" of the Kitchener stitch - which I actually love. I love the look of heel knitted with flap/turning heel/gusset. My mom taught me the short row heel - which is easier, but not as nice looking... thank you for stopping by 🌹
