-Fun- Fact: The reason why paul told rudeus to save his mother even if it costs him his life is actually kinda related to his past. When paul was a kid, both his father and lil bro mentally abuses him the only person who was kind to him was his mother but her mother's body was fragile and she often fell ill. One day she was really ill and passed away, paul tried everything he could to save his mother but failed. What even worse was that his father and lil bro blame paul for his mother's death. Paul doesn't want rudeus to go through the same regret. Paul: Protect your mother even if it kills you Also Paul (in mind): and I'll protect even if it kills me. There's also an inner monolog of paul while dying in which he said that he has many regrets and doesn't want to die but then looks at rudeus and smile while thinking "Still better than rudeus dying"

I didn't know about the first part...but I've listened recently to the CD Drama, I've almost cried so bad mannn...hearing him saying that everything that happened and he's regretting was still better than Rudeus' death...I love Paul as a character so much.

Paul's redemption arc is going on for almost a decade, After teleportation incident he was actively searching for his family which was clear when the first time we saw him after the incident. Not to mention Paul deep down thought himself as useless as he couldn't do single thing for rudeus. It won't be exaggeration to say that he was redeeming himself all this time.

​@@___Manish___I'm never going to forget the episode in S1 P2 where we see the POV of Paul during the Teleportation, him seeing everything falling apart and being alone with Norn. That was really wonderful, the whole journey that Paul did since the beginning of everything to his las breath, was something unique. I can't appreciate Paul enough as a character, such a peak development, I will miss him so much. Ps. The funny part is that I started reading the LN months ago but I've arrived to his death just 1-2 weeks before the episode itself where it happens. Taking the hit twice in a small time of period was devastating...
