It's so amazing that even when Khanyisa's wounds were still healing, she was so playful and cheerful! She helped herself so much with her sunny disposition, it must have aided immensely in overcoming the horrific torture of the snare and the terrible grief of losing her mother and herd. Such a remarkable recovery--with lots of help from her human and elephant family of course. 🐘💚👱 Timisa deserves high praise. It would have been natural for her to be jealous of the new baby of the herd. For example, in that scene with Limpopo, I've watched it closely a few times, and to my eye Limpopo is giving affection and attention to Khanyisa, and Timisa is right there hoping to get some too, pressing her forehead to Limpopo's leg when Khanyisa has left, but Limpopo does not seem to notice her. (I confess, with all my adopted ellie babies, I yearn to give them affection myself, but that being impossible, I am always scrutinizing every video hoping for their elephant loved ones to be my avatar and hug them for me. I'm sure Limpopo--and others--gives Timi attention and affection, it just didn't happen to satisfy my yearning in this scene. Adine and all the carers, you are so lucky to be able to hug the ellies in person!) What I wanted to say is Timi never let jealousy stop her from loving Khanyisa as a big sister. She is always playing and cuddling with her little sister, and is so patient and tolerant and indulgent. Khanyisa is lucky there is at least one elephant young enough to be her playmate--and Timi is such a sweet sister!😄💙💚💜🐘😊

What a perfect video for this International Day of Happiness of course a Sunshine video is a joy ANY day but considering Khanyisa Braveheart’s just that pure happiness and light makes it extra special today. This little pink elephant on another continent is a bringer of laughter silliness joy hope and love,so much love. She and her herd are the perfect serotonin boost when we need it most. Her rescue happened at a time when the world was a mess and there was so much fear and panic while I will always wish that Khanyisa never had to experience the horror of the snare & losing her natal family she gave so many of us a reason to smile to be thankful and brave in the moments when it was hardest to find a reason to be happy she became that for so many around the world. I believe so many things happen for a reason and Khanyisa arrived to teach us about elephants and to remind us that even in the darkest of days there’s always a light a beacon of hope and that is exactly what she is. Thank you for continuing to share her with us it means so much and it’s been incredible to see how far she’s come a true Warrior Princess 👑 🐘💖🤗

Who knew that a tiny pink blue eyed elephant call in another part of the world would get so many of us through lockdown when the world was complete chaos she helped us feel better and reminded us to smile to keep going and not to give up both she and the other 15 members of the herd are so special.🐘🥺💚

She is a happy little girl. Until I joined HERD, I had no idea baby ellies liked to play as little kids do. Amazing.

I almost forgot just how much Khaynisa 🐘 loved that tyre and the long high grass. Such sweet memories. To see Bubi 🐘 splashing in the dam is priceless. She loves it as much as Sebakwe 🐘. My heart melts seeing this darling baby able to find joy and fun despite her awful, her terrible, experience. She has such powerful life and character in her young soul. Thank you for showing her courage and resilience, what a wonderful example she is of Joie de Vivre. 🤗💖🐘💖😘

What a sweet baby Khanyisa is. I'm thankful she's happy and safe 🎉

She's in heaven, long green new things to eat, mud and water what else would she want, except her milk 🫠, oh the difference from where she was found and saved. Fishan so calm in the water, he's such a lovely boy, and so brave dealing with his leg fracture, and thank you all for really saving his life. Long may you all reign 🐘

Elephants are the most wonderful animals on earth. The way they treat and teach their young , and guard each other is wonderful to see. My punishment for elephant poaching would not be allowed on KZread. There is no punishment awful for these people.

Loved seeing Lammie so active and remembering how she accompanied Khanyisa on those early ventures outside the nursery as well as kept her company so faithfully.

Khanyisa was a very playful baby elephant when she was little 🤗🐘. Adine and she had many nice moments, and still have 👱‍♀💕🐘. The play of Lammie and Khanyisa is fun to watch. Oh dear that elephant baby 😍. The whole herd brings joy to my life. I am happy for my warm home and family. Happy International Day of Happiness for everyone🤗.

This was an amazing video. Our little "speelse" Meisiekind enjoying every second of her life and making the best of it and having fun with Adine and Carers and her HERD. And most of all knowing that she has been loved and cared for deeply since the first day she arrived at the orphanage.

I am thankful for her feisty personality as I believe it carried her on to the bigger feisty girl she is today. She has come a long way. Thank you Herd for taking such good care of her and sharing her with the world 🐘❤

Khanyisa is so funny and full of energy although she has not a total recovery and with many big scars on her cheek neck and ear !!! She is incredible ! she looks so happy with its tyre tube !! never seen so excited and playing without to be tired !!!🐘💓🇫🇷 you gave her so much love and the team too !! she forgot her mum and her first family ! you help her so much !!! 🌹
