I love this direction of videos. The processing, the detailing. Fascinating updates and information about how the production of each garment is made and the particularities of each piece really goes to show that it cannot be understated how high of a standard Ken has for himself and his brand. Really hope to be able to afford a Vuja De piece someday cause I really look up to the next-level work ethic. Honestly the weekly vlogs thing now that I look back on it was unrealistic, as it is much more satisfying, exciting, entertaining and interesting to have more content packed into one singular mini movie that gives us everything we need as Kenijima fans. Thanks for your hard work bro I look forward to the future of this brand even more now than ever.

Ken, you should go check out the Brass Tokyo boots shop in a vlog. They repair boots and have their own brand called Clinch, some of the best craftsmanship you will ever see. Definitely worth checking out in a vlog

So about the pour over It's nice to put a light layer of water over the coffee first and let it bubble for a moment, that way you let some of the gas escape and not get washed down with the water :) this applies to cold brew too

I was so amused by ur refined taste since i started watching you(probably second half of 2020), i felt that i was following your footsteps so much that i didn’t even understood it at the time. 老虎 = tiger. Many words in mandarin are phrases, which is a byproduct of how in mandarin each syllabic phoneme is represented by an entire character. This is contrasted to how syllables are represented by letters in English or Japanese kana which string together to make words through representing the sound of the word. Japanese, which descended from Mandarin, uses Mandarin characters as placeholders of whole words (kanji), which is why they read 虎 as tori, which is represents by two syllabic kana "to" and "ri". However, in Mandarin tiger is "lao" "hu", which is two syllables and must be represented by two whole characters. In mandarin, 老 also means old, which is why in Japanese kanji is means the same thing although it is pronounced differently. This is why I can read many Japanese kanji and know what it means but have no idea how it reads out loud or what it actually says. This is also why Mandarin is so damn hard compared to even other east asian languages lmao

Name for the new denim: “Max Load”

Brand is eh. Tshirt and Hoodie are good classics, but they don't seem to be anything special especially when you look at what other youtubers are making. Maybe Ken is more okay now with vuja de being youtube "merch", and whatever that's his choice. But I remember when he was clear he didn't want the brand the be thought of as a derivative of youtube, and that he didn't want to collab with anyone. But now hes sending his pieces to a lot of other fashion youtubers for advertising and featuring their pieces on his channel, so maybe he's accepted being a youtuber now that his cover has been blown and we know he isn't getting most of his money from a cushy consulting job. But I always took him at his word and was waiting on some fashion forward and exciting pieces from a young designer/creative head. Alas, you shouldn't buy the denim. Here's why. Vintage Levi's, specifically redlines (which just means selvedge), the ones that Ken was obsessed with just last drop, are different from normal jeans in 3 ways: (1) they were crafted using old shuttle looms, which is how selvedge denim is made; (2) the fades are authentic, meaning someone actually wore and washed the jean which resulted in the indigo fading in a natural way (this is compared to commercial washing and fading of garments) and (3) age/rarity. Regular "Japanese" denim is famous for mostly the same reasons. Shuttle looms are rarer now and take skill to operate, and most of the world's shuttle looms are in japan as of today. real Japanese denim thats worth the price is selvedge and of the highest quailty (think sugarcane, iron heart, momotaro). It's really the time and craftsmanship required to operate a shuttle loom to make selvedge denim that is "Japanese" denim's huge appeal, and what's made Japanese denim famous worldwide. If you buy new Japanese selvedge denim that is unwashed (raw denim) you can fade it yourself and get an authentic fade. Basically you'd be getting everything vintage levi's gets you except age/rarity (and maybe brand name if you care). But what is ken selling? pre-washed, non-selvedge, "Japanese" denim? Come on man are you testing your follower base to see if they've paid attention like a final exam? Basically, if you buy this denim, you are buying denim that has none of those qualities as the jeans that Ken himself collects. It's the same as pre-washed denim you buy anywhere else like Joe's jeans or Lucky jeans, just "made in japan" (but not really since it's not selvedge and its prewashed).
