@@nicholaswoodsc3841 Man bro, one of the things I love most about older rap is sampling made me want to hear the originals to find where the producers got inspired from. Now that we got KZread, Google, Wikipedia, etc. that mentality made me start revisiting classics from my youth and researching older music/artists I'd never heard before. Along with scouring the alternative/independent hip hop and R&B scenes, I finally realized all these convos about the genres being "dead" are a joke. Black music has ALWAYS been in a good space, the mainstream is what's hurting now lol.

MY FAVORITE MARY ALBUM!!! THE PRODUCERS ON THAT ALBUM WRITERS ETC. HOOKED THIS ONE UP! GREAT CHOICE MAN. THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD. I WAS 7 WHEN THIS ALBUM CAME OUT

I wasn't expecting this one, Nice pull from a classic album, from one of the best R&B artist of our generation. Salute to Mary J. On a side note if you into jazz check out the "Mary J. Blige - You Remind Me (Jazz Mix)" I got an early copy of it and when I heard it I knew she was going to be a problem! For some R&B joints that would be a good foundation check out some of these classics: - Randy Crawford - I Stand Accused - Anita Baker - Angel - Tracie Spencer - Tender Kisses - Keith Sweat - Right and a Wrong Way, or How Deep is Your Love (or anything off of that Make it Last Forever album) - Rufus feat. 1000% FACTS! I just saw Mary J. In October. Street goons with face tattoos and pinky rings were at the concert dancing and bopping all up and through the concert! When she sang Not Going Cry…ALL the men were singing I SHOULD HAVE LFET YOUR ASS 1000 times! Me and my homegirls were hollering laughing 😂we were like Oh, that’s all the HURT MEN singing along.

I’ve been a huge fan of mary j since I was so young, I’m 21 now and I’m still loving her for who she is and still stream all her music
