    Thanks for the tips! 45 minute install this way. Of note…I cut a hole in the center of the grommets and passed the wire through it so the wire would not chafe on the metal edge. Also, instead of trying to blindly connect the wires one handed, I used a pull string through the wire hole at the lamp and taped one connector to the string. Passed through the hole one at a time. Cheers!

    Great install and procedure. One thing I would recommend doing is to fish out the wires to the reflector opening. Once installed, wrap it in electrical tape and fish it back in. Those small connectors are small and flimsy so any additional support will only help it.

    Great video. I’m putting together my parts bin…new model Y due in May. I purchased the lower bumper replacement lights a month ago. Question… does the Y have the same blue grommets that you can drop the wires down through ?.. and avoid going through the lower wheel well ?

    The model 3 and Y are extremely similar. We believe that access panel is for the tow hook so the model Y should have the same access but we haven’t messed with a Y so I can’t confirm. (Soon we will)

    What year is your Tesla Model 3?? Does the rear reflector fit the 2021-2022 Tesla Model 3??? Is the rear reflector fully functional when the headlights are turned on and off??

  • @EverythingElectrified

    @EverythingElectrified

    2 жыл бұрын

    Mine is a 2021 model 3. The rear reflectors are hooked up to the taillights so if the taillights are off they are off. If you brake they turn on for brake. They turn on for signal. If your taillights are on then they are on.

    @Everything Electrified, I have heard others say that when you turn on your headlights and step on the brake or using the left or right turn signal, the turn signals would work, but the brake lights on the rear reflectors don’t fully work 100% as they will just blink one time and turn off afterward. Unless if company that manufactures these rear reflectors corrected this malfunction on the US spec Tesla model 3??? What are your experiences with these rear reflectors??

    I haven’t heard of that but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. I can’t confirm those issues but from personal experience they are still working from the day I installed them and I haven’t had any issues so far *fingers crossed*

    I guess it would also depend on the taillights. Remember I’m using hansshow taillights as well I can’t speak on the behalf of the other people

    Do these act as running lights when going down the road without brakes or signals applied?

  • @EverythingElectrified

    @EverythingElectrified

    2 жыл бұрын

    These lights are connected to your tail lights so if the tail lights are off then they are also off. The magic for these are at night and they make your Tesla stand out from all the rest of them!

    @@EverythingElectrified Thanks for the quick reply! So at night these are lit up dimly until you hit the brake when they flash briefly and then stay on solid and brighter until releasing the brake, going back to a dimmer tail light mode. Do I have that right?

  • @EverythingElectrified

    @EverythingElectrified

    2 жыл бұрын

    So when you have your tail lights on but you are in drive the reflector lights will be off. They come on in park and reverse and braking. I wouldn’t say dim because they are bright even with them just on. When you use signals they will flash for that side only.

    there's literally no need to drill that hole. you don't need to put the connectors in all at once. just put one in at a time

    We tried that the plug is just slightly too big to fit. The cleaner way is to make a larger hole.

  • @catinthehat5140

    It is possible to do this without drilling. You just squeeze one connector at a time. It's not easy to be honest and drilling into the bumper is easy
