Hansik of The Day(Ep.13) Ordinary daily life _ Full Episode
There's a saying that Koreans live off the strength of rice.
People greet each other by asking if they've eaten. Meals are more than just a way to fill an empty stomach - the carefully set table at each meal represents the culture of Korean life, and the Korean spirit.
Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, is an area famous for its rice. The tables here are packed with rice, soup, and various side dishes. In the past, kings were served with dishes made with ingredients from all over the country, and the tables here resemble the royal meals. Why do Koreans lay all the dishes on the table at once?
Since long ago, Koreans have been cooking with local specialty products. In Yang-gu, Gangwon-do Province, the specialty is siraegi, a food ingredient made by drying radish leaves in winter. In the past, Koreans would turn to siraegi to keep them full in hard times. Today it is a versatile ingredient used to make rice, soups, and side dishes.
Today, we explore the Korean table, reflecting Korea's past and present and consistent in its significance for Koreans from all walks of life.

traditional cuisine is always the best and delicious gomabseubnida thank you for sharing ❤
I love scorched rice and scorched rice tea! Korean meals are so tasty that I set my own meal as they do now. I have rice soup and banchan. I'm vegan and it's a very healthy way to eat I just love it! I have other things at times so just rice with meatballs and sauce on the side curry rice but I enjoy this traditional rice soup and side dishes.Bimimbap is always a favorite! Things like odors and chewiness are very important in Korean cuisine and most Asian Cuisine. I wish America was the way it was when I grew up because we did connect at the dinner table and then all of that stopped.
They look very healthy
That is a cool presentation - cart to table invention at the store minute mark.
I love that lady from the Institute of Traditional Korean Food, Yoon Sook Ja. Her hanboks are lovely, and the way she explains the traditional food was amazing.

She is really boring and such a drainer. She just carry on and I had to constantly skip when she talk.

@@kymphoa832 not nearly half as boring as your bitter and atrocious attitude though.
In Poland, we have a traditional dish of cabbage rolls with meat and rice, which is called "gołąbki" and a casserole of rice and apples with cream and cinnamon.

Are there white dots on the film or do I have a concussion? I feel horribly today and broke two ribs and feel like my brain got scrambled. I've been busy and I fell in the house again but I landed on the coffee table. I just want to make sure those white dots were there. Thank you to anyone who answers me! :-)
