About the piece 🎼:
In this arrangement, I aimed to cover most pieces from all three major albums, The Lion King 1994, The Lion King 2019, and the Disney Records Legacy Collection (2014) from Spotify.
Through 2 months of practice, and weeks of visual and auditory calibrations, I hoped to make the best quality Lion King cover I could. Hope you all enjoy :)
Pieces used in order:
- This Land (1994)
- Kings of the Past (Legacy)
- Remember Who You Are (Legacy)
- Simba is Alive! (2019)
- Mufasa Dies (Legacy)
- Reflections of Mufasa (2019)
- Remember (2019)

Dude! This is TOP TIER QUALITY videos and I say this as a fan who’s obsessed with piano for the past decade listening and playing to Kyle Landry, Animenz, Frank Tedesco, Patrik Pietschmann amongst many others! This is amazing! Wow. How do you get ALL of this together? I’d love to understand your process. I’m trying to create a piano channel as well.

Wow thank you so much!! Patrik Pietschmann is actually my inspiration for making these so you can probably see a few similarities XD. In terms of creating it, it’s kind of a lot trial and error, my best advice is for you to make some videos of your own and get better each time. I say in the description what I use, but in reality it definitely took some time to make it good quality and well balanced, everything from the audio to visuals. Hope this helps :)

@@tom.m.mancini Absolutely for sure, I can see the inspiration, Patrik Pietschmann honestly has amazing videos and from the beginning of his uploads till now, you can REALLY see the evolution of his performances from Interstellar to Immaterial, it’s insane. Rousseau and Kassia also have these type of video formats as well, and they’re phenomenal in their own way as well. It definitely looks better than Synthesia hahaha, but that’s amazing. I’m rooting for you! I’m going to read over your description on what you use and go from there. Thank you for the tip Tom!

@@Cloudstrife7070Yes I also love the performances of Kassia and Rousseau, definitely some of the best pianists alive today. Although my style of music is more gravitates towards film music like Patrik. Glad this helps, if you have any other questions about the process please feel free to contact me on Instagram or my email tom@skylie.com. Good luck on your journey too!

Thank you!
WOAH!
Wow this is amazing!! Wonderful job 😊 I was kind of wondering when you were going to post a new song, and when I saw this I was excited :D You nailed it!! I can see why this would've taken time though, with as many song as you have in this one video! They are beautiful, and I love how you made the video with the colors changing. Its very cool 😁 Which would you say was the most difficult to play?

Thanks for your comment Lily, always happy to hear from you. I would say this one is definitely the hardest one I’ve done yet. To rank them so far I would say 1. Lion King, 2. Spirit/A window to the past, 3. Interstellar and so forth. The length and left hand arpeggios made this one difficult😆. Are you currently learning any pieces on the piano?

Aww thank you, I appreciate it! I enjoy hearing from you as well! And you're welcome! Wow! That's impressive, cause I have to say lol, you really did so well with it. Hah yeah you were moving around a lot with the arpeggios I bet that was challenging! 😆 Well I took lessons for over four years, which I know isn't that much compared to how long you've been playing and so many others, but it wound up being a lot for me as well as my classes and other things. But I do want to continue to play for fun if I can. I like to play songs that are familiar, there is definitely something about it that is more fun than a random melody 😄 I enjoy making up little simple melodies when I sit at the piano, and trying to figure out how songs I've heard go LOL. I guess that is how you work up your playing by ear skills though 😊 Are you still planning to go to Switzerland for school?

Have you ever considered playing music by Craig Armstrong?

@@lilyosborne4484that is great! Learning the piano through just messing around and creating your own melodies is sometimes the best and most creative way to learn. And if you know much about chords on the piano, I recommend ‘Chordify’ so that you can learn the chords of your favourite songs and adapt from there! Anyways, yeah I’ve looked into it and I don’t think I’m heading that way anymore, universities for music in general are not my taste and don’t express creativity it is more on the rigid theory side (based off the University I’ve been to anyway). So I’m just freelancing it and hoping to get jobs eventually. I’ll keep you posted on what happens. Thanks for your comment.

Yeah I think creativity and being able to be free about learning an instrument and not having rigidity imposed upon it, taking away from the overall joy of doing it in the first place, is a terrible thing, because there is so much that is in music that is beautiful and a pleasure to listen to and play, that it is a waste to have it be a chore. I don't know, that's just the way I feel :) So I can understand why you decided not to go to the university. And I really appreciate the encouragement and tip, you are very kind! I think if freelancing is what you think is better fitting for that sounds like a good idea. It is very obvious that you are an exceptional pianist 😊, so you should definitely receive work! Yes please keep me updated, if you don't mind, I would love to hear how everything goes. And of course. thank you for replying! What would be the job that you would want to do most playing the piano? Or are you thinking you'd rather compose I'm sorry I hope you don't mind me asking :)
