This presentation was the first TED video I watched; the rest pale in comparison. Thanks for uploading and thanks to Mr. Rosling!
Good video! RIP :( He was a great teacher and writer
What an amazing presentation. Just fell in love with it. I wish more and more people created such meaningful content, represented in such comprehensible manner in today's day and age
This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
So interesting! Sad to hear that he passed away...
This was pretty epic. Would love to see at 2016 version of it, even though the overall picture would be pretty identical
This is incredibly important information really nicely presented. Share with all your friends, family and work colleagues.
I'm actually pretty sad because I'll never get to meet this man! I'm so inspired by the Professor and I hope one day it will be evident. RIP Prof. Rosling

Hans Rosling's prediction for the future is very exciting to wait for. He believes that our life expectancy and wealth will increase, that is amazing. His main reasons why he believes we will have a higher life expectancy and become more wealthy ( Aid, Trade and Green Technology) are going to boost jobs and is the future of our existences.

Yeah, the view of the world after the collapse of the soviet union and Fukuyama's end of history was too optimistic, in the decade and a half since he made this the optimism is gone

Very nice Swenglish!
Good
He was a perfect man. I advice you to read a book called FactFulness by Hans Rosling. One the most important books for understand, what is happening and happened and will happen in the world
Damn that's old
Anyone else here because of Cisco?
is the "wealth" adjusted for inflation?
Where was Russia
vila i frid 😔
I don't believe there is a time when life expectancy was below 40. I need an to be explained. 200 years ago people lived many years unlike today with high health-related lifestyles and food

Maternal & infant mortality explains a lot of that low number. Of course there were old people. But so many mothers died in childbirth. And babies & young children. Hygiene (washing hands with soap) helped a lot.
R.IP sir but if I may there was no Bangladesh in 1948, it was called East Pakistan!
1 day after his death
Mises soul is shaking at the grave: "Congratulations! You have just discovered the birth of liberalism, so called as industrial revolution or, as Marx preffers, capitalism.
Oh, I do really like this man. His optimistic analysis, however, does not factor in the planet-wide environmental collapse caused by out-of-control consumption and overpopulation. In 1810, the Amazon rainforest was intact, the old-growth forests on the northern Pacific Coast hadn't been logged, the Colorado River flowed into the Sea of Cortez, and the free-flowing Nile annually replenished the soil of the farms of Egypt. The rich farmlands of Silicon Valley and eastern China had not yet been paved over. The modest populations of the peoples of Africa lived happily in the relatively malaria-free highlands. Vast herds of buffalo (protein on the hoof) filled the Great Plains and vast numbers of salmon filled the rivers. Not anymore.
So, even in his plot is possible to see that unequality between countries raised. Also, this doesn´t show the full story, GDP is too limited and life expectancy is nice, but only one aspect of quality of life. I agree that the world now is better then 100 years ago, but this doesn´t mean its all better or even solved.
Rosling is truly the best but it's still too complicated for Trump to grasp.
Zum Wohl.
what was that african country that dipped majorly in the 90s? was it Rwanda because of the genocide?
Ahhh moin Meister
first
Lol
The colonial powers have a moral debt with the colonized nations from where they derived the wealth upon their built today's prosperity.

Yeah and I expect this graph to virtually go stagnate as we continue to push for more and more socialism.
Thanks for doing your part involving overpopulation Hans.
