one of the most prolific and legendary strikers of all time but unfortunately he's very underrated coz he's just Austrian although he scored many goals in his career i watched that famous match between Barcelona and Fortuna dusseldorf he was very very good

I will never forget watching him in the 1978 world cup finals my favorite world cup ever. i had the feeling that everytime he went near the ball he would score a goal. What a fantastic player I've never forgotten him and often think of him, his name Hans Krankl conjures up for me goal machine !!! Thanks for the memories Hans 😊

Raul Mora yo lo conocí en un reportaje del Barsa TV que pasan en ESPN, se llamaba algo así como “buscando al 9” y hablaban sobre los 9 del barcelona y en ese episodio hablaron de el y recuerdo que rechazó al Sevilla un día antes de que cerrara el mercado o algo así

Era muy bueno, un auténtico killer del área, al estilo Hugo Sánchez, por ej. pero solo pudo estar dos temporadas. Luego fue sustituido por Schuster, ya que en esa epoca solo había dos extranjeros . Una pena, sobre todo para los niñatos que solo ven fútbol desde hace 4 o 5 años

I clearly remember Hans Krankl he was an amazing forward ..I supported Rapid Wien only for him ,I was so sad when Rapid Wien lost the final of European cup against Everton( in spite of a Krankl's goal)..One of the very best forward of the history,too much underrated because of being austrian..No doubt if he were German he would be still recognized as one of the best of history because he was much better than a lot of german forwards like Rummenigge ,Voller and Klinsmann.

Sorry for not being agree with you: Krankl was better striker than Rummenigge. Just compare the statistics: >With Germany Rummenigge played 95 matches and scored 45 goals (0.47 goal/match). In his whole career Rummenigge played 593 matchs and scored 293 goals (0.49 goal/ match). >With Austria Krankl played 69 games and scored 34 goals (0.49 goal/match). In his whole career: 646 matchs and scored 477 goals (0.74 goal/match). Krankl has better statistics. Rummenigge was a great striker,no doubt about this, but he always played in strong teams and always surrounded by great players (Germany,Bayern Munich and Inter Milan). Krankl played in Rapid Wien (average club) and Barcelona during a time when Barcelona was not so strong as Bayern Munich . In addition Krankl finished European golden shoe in 1978 (ahead of Rummenigge) despite playing only 3 years in Barcelona which was no as strong as Bayern in this time.Rummenigge has never won the Golden shoe despite playing for 10 years in the top european club during this time (Bayern Munich). Krankl was Spain's top scorer after his first season at Barcelona. Rummenigge was never top scorer in Italy.
