So many trumpet players focus on the high register. It is a treat to hear someone play low notes so beautifully on the cornet.

I've seen him live. He is a great Trumpet and Cornet player. He has just the right amount of vibrato. That is how it is taught in the cornet method by Arban.

You clearly haven't heard some of the great American Cornet Soloists of today. Or even Philip Cobb (who is english). Old School english players use the vibrato technique in their playing but more and more we are seeing a hybrid between the cornet and trumpet sounds. Seeing as most players play both instruments today.

What? Have you heard the likes of the New York Staff Band? Where the Solo row of Cornets all graduated from either Curtis, Juilliard (or Both), Manhattan and Guild Hall? All in Trumpet Performance. Philip Smith, grew up a Cornet player. You my friend are the clown.
