Thought provoking ideas.
Eric "Hoffer states in [The True Believer] that mass movements begin with a widespread "desire for change" from discontented people who place their locus of control outside their power and who also have no confidence in existing culture or traditions. Feeling their lives are "irredeemably spoiled" and believing there is no hope for advancement or satisfaction as an individual, true believers seek "self-renunciation". Thus, such people are ripe to participate in a movement that offers the option of subsuming their individual lives in a larger collective. Leaders are vital in the growth of a mass movement, as outlined below, but for the leader to find any success, the seeds of the mass movement must already exist in people's hearts."
I am enjoyed this channel,
Even if embracing totalitarianism could dissolve my loneliness I would prefer not to. Although hope isn't a plan, it can accompany searching in the wasteland for my complement. It may not exist but Camus speculates that Sisyphus was happy in his endless struggle. Perhaps what we seek is a partner with whom to experience this species of loneliness where one can engage in the lonely activities and be tacitly accompanied by someone doing the same.
Lead to?
Seemingly contradictory ideas. On one side we recognise humans need to be alone to nurture creativity and deeper reflection. The loneliness also leads to totalitarianism tendencies :-( Hard to grasp. Something is missing.
yep, all these depressed single women
