You know, Cartoon Network Studios was originally an in-house Cartoon Network Production company... OWNED BY HANNA-BARBERA! So you guys are right! Without Bill and Joe, there would never even BE a Cartoon Network!

While pencils and paper aren't the driving force of animation any longer, they were right in that computers will never fully replace animators. Computers are just tools, and it takes the same amount of talent to make a great hand drawn cartoon than it does to make a great CGI cartoon.

It depresses me that Disney, and the rest of Hollywood have thrown traditional animation under the bus in favor of CG. Sure, hand drawn animation still exists on television, but I miss seeing 2D animation on the big screen. I'm not saying 'bring back cels', but you can still make good looking 2D animation with current tech.

Cartoonists of today would do a lot better if they knew this. There's a reason why Hanna-Barbera's influences have made the next generation of cartoonists also classical. Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd n' Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, etc. These were the next generation legends and they remind strong! With the death of the legends of Bill Hanna, Joe Barbera and Chuck Jones, CN isn't the same anymore!

Craig McCracken makes an excellent point about how to make cartoons funny. Don't try to figure out what a 5 year old thinks is funny. Make something based on what YOU think is funny. For proof of this, watch the ORIGINAL 'Powerpuff Girls' series, then watch the 2016 reboot. It's like night, and day. The 2016 version is EVERYTHING that the original wasn't. It's not just the fact that McCracken wasn't involved in it, but the 2016 show runners don't understand that.

This is why I could NEVER get into 'Adventure Time', 'Regular Show', or 'Steven Universe' despite having some good qualities. They lack the classic wacky humor I miss from cartoons. 'My Little Pony' is probably the only modern cartoon I've watched more than the others because it has some of the good qualities I miss from cartoons. It's quite an achievement how Lauren Faust turned A once universally mocked toy property into a cultural phenomenon.

A lot of people say that Adventure Quest, Regular Show & Steven Universe are good but yet I fail to see the "good" in them. Modern cartoons lack the lively feeling that the good classics had. Every episode in the classics felt special! Man, watching Courage the Cowardly Dog still fills me up with joy! Further down the past, Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Jetsons, etc. those cartoons are still good to watch!

I believe since animators focus more on computers for their work, I believe they lost some of their creativity with that. Yes, faster and convenient but also missing the dedication and hard work. When you work hard on something, you WANT it to be good! Your heart, blood, sweat & tears come with the package! Your mind works harder than ever! That's what people are missing! I would rather have 5 good episodes of one show than 30 average episodes of another. Quality over quantity!

Cartoon Legends like the Tom & Jerry, the Flintstones, Scooby Doo, etc. were all created with the pencil. There was feeling and love into that those drawings. That's one of the major problems with today's cartoonists.

Contrary to popular opinion, Johnny Bravo's name was not an allusion to Greg Brady's alter-ego (Barry Williams himself confirmed this myth as debunked), but rather was derived from Van Partible's own full name: Giovanni Bravissimo Partible (his first name being Italian for "John").
