NOTE: Here's my new version of a clip with "Marianna" - a forgotten hit of Hanka Ordonówna - la grande vedette of Polish pre-war song. The text tells that ancient story about a pretty little harbor-town girl who waits every day in the marina for her Seven Seas' sailor, who arrives for a couple of nights only and then he again fades away. The song, despite its presentation by Ordonówna & Chór Dana on stage of the most renowned Warsaw cabaret "Qui Pro Quo" and with a lovely text written by one of the finest song-lyricists, Marian Hemar, naver became a hit. Today, it belongs to a charming collection of the old & forgotten songs of Polish prewar cabaret.

I discovered her in 1975 in Poland where my friend Joanna Boczkowska,later Reymanowska,introduced her to me. I had a treasured LP with her songs but time goes by and I have been living in Japan since 1980. Thank you for reviving lovely memories,btw this song is new to me. I am going to watch all the excellent pix of my Polish idol❤️💕🌿☘️❣️🙋🏻♀️

Co za ciotka wspaniała! Oto lekcja prawdziwej kindersztuby :-)) Przypomina mi to anegdotę o angielskim lordzie, który podczas lunchu wpadł do morza. Zaatakowany przez rekina nie bronił się jednak, choć trzymał w ręku nóż. "Bo ryby nie kraja się nożem".
Her little hats are amazing. She must have had a very good stylist who made her style by these little chapeaux. Her somewhat "swollen" face was therefore made lighter by these little shining silken turbans and silver-skin snake-like heads.

Hello Grzegorz - This vid is magnificent in every way. Ordonka's talents make her an eternal diva of the silver screen and - of course - her songs never loose their universal appeal. Love her singing, her movies, her fashions. Count Tyszkiewicz - her husband - in addition to being handsome - penned some equisite lyrics for her songs. What a lovely song and voice. I have no idea what the words meant, however quite enjoyed it.
Igo Sym to rzeczywiście, smutna karta w całej tej męskiej kolekcji pierwszorzędnych amantów. Przewróciło mu się w głowie, gdy zagrał w filmie w jakimś trzecim planie"obok" Marleny Dietrich i uwierzył, że będzie wielką gwiazdą UFY, jak jakiś Willy Fritsch czy inny blondas o stalowych oczach. No i tyle po nim zostało, co tych parę zdjęć - obok Ordonki.

In my info I tried to make short resume of what this song is about. But - even in Polish, the first line of refrain tells a lot: the words Marianna oh, Marianna must be, as it seems, nothing but the beginning of a praise of the girl's charm and beauty...

Jest dużo kompilacji na CD, ale z winylami faktycznie jest problem.
She is quite wonderful.....I hope she survived the Germans.

+Ricko s Survived even Soviets (gulag) but died shortly after of tuberculosis in Lebanon.

Spotyka sie dwoch kolegow. Janek- co to jest ta alternatywa? Wyobraz sobie, ze masz koguta i kure. Za jakis czas jajka, kurczeta, wiecej kur w koncu wielka farme, a tu zaczyna padac i padac i nadchodzi powodz, ktora zabiera wszystko! Rozumiesz? No dobrze, ale alternatywa? Kaczki!!!!
