Hank Williams - Reaching back in history to touch the genius of Hank Williams
Hiram "Hank" Williams was one of the most significant and influential singers and recording artists in the United States since the time that records were produced on shellac disks after WWII. Hank started life in rural Alabama but was able to ride cars, boats and planes all over the world to perform his songs. Before his life ended in the back seat of his 1952 Cadillac, he found his music on Billboard's C & W Top 10 35 times, and 11 of those reached no. 1. He wrote most of his songs. His life ended life quietly in the mountains of West Virginia. We take a short journey back into history of music to one country music's giants of who influenced country music and rock 'n' roll singers, performers and recording artists for decades after his death.

Hank Williams was the first rock star! I'm 55 and when I was 14 and 15 I hid the fact that I loved Hank Williams.
Can't get enough of HANK Sr. Liked him as Luke the drifter too.
Thank you sir for uploading this. Hank Williams is the most legendary voice in music. My all time favorite. His music is timeless. And his lyrics are priceless.

I had no idea Hank had ties to my hometown Cincinnati Ohio. I've been down there on race street so many time and had no clue one of my favorite singers of all time recorded "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". I wonder what cincy would of been like in Hank's time.
Fantastic video! This is my dream trip, Lord willing! Ole Hank is the GOAT

great job my friend, I enjoyed this from just down the road where Hank is buried in Montgomery Al. Not only is he a distant relative, my maternal grandmothers, uncle was the Justice (M.A. Boyett, my 3rd cousin)that married Hank in Andalusia Al. just about 30 miles south of Georgianna.
Nice song lyric to end on. Very poetic. Hillbilly Shakespeare earning his nickname
