Outlaw Country.. his lyrics in this song, dont play "i'm so lonesome i could cry", and "your cheatin heart" are references to his Dad songs, Hank Williams sr., who died on tour when Jr was a kid.. He was actually removed from the Grand Old Opry at one point for his music subject matter.. ran with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristopherson, Merle Haggard, and s few others back in the day. All considered outlaw country performers..

There's a cool live performance of a young Hank Jr on KZread of him playing "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" on the banjo. It's a classic bluegrass tune that many have played. The performance was before he had the fall and decided to go his own direction. So he was clean shaven and stuff.

His fall was during a hunting trip. This performance may be before his fall. After he always has a beard, sunglasses and hat pulled down, to cover the scars.

It was after. He fell sometime in the mid 70s when he was a young man. In later interviews, much later in his career, he credits the fall with his bombastic “Are you ready for some football” voice. It cracked his sinuses and ear canals and changed forever the way he heard his own voice somehow allowing him to sing deeper and louder. Before that he sounded a lot more like his father.

Hank Jr has a song called Whole Lotta Hank. In it he states that he has Jim Beam in a lot of his songs. So Beam is his drink of choice.

Hello there friend. Yeah, seen this guys reaction to my name is Bocephus. He also said he listens to a lot of Hank the 3rd and Waylon Jennings I think grandson. Whey Jennings. So you wanted to understand more about the Williams story. I told him he should do the conversation.

Standard blended Scotch is pretty bad ,but many of the single malts are excellent Springbank ,Bruichladdich ,and Macallan are 3 of my favorites . You should also try some of the small batch and single cask Bourbons . I was a professional wine taster for 42 years so when I drink spirits ,which isn't very often ,I sip and sniff them for the flavor not to get high

If you want to hear a song about that fall, listen to his song called "All In Alabama." It happened when he was an adult. I guess he was having a bit of an identity crisis at the time.

Great reaction. I drank some scotch for the first time in my life this year. I was kinda let down. I've always heard so many good things about it. But I am from the home of bourbon. Kentucky born and raised.

Dave, go look up Lynyrd Skynyrd Live in Oakland California. Specifically look up Freebird. Its one of the greatest guitar compilation I've ever heard. I don't do Patrion. So it's up to you,but you are missing out on some great music.

Dave if you enjoy music that makes you feel something, do yourself a favor & check out ‘the voice’ Vern Gosdin.. If he doesn’t make you feel something, you need to check your pulse!

Have you heard his son, Hank III? You’d dig him. See his grainy live video “Punch Fight F-k” from Fort Worth, Texas. The most ass kickingest honky tonk meets metal meets mayhem.
