I appreciate your passion on your Hank vlogs. I share it, too. I've listened to Hank since I was a kid. I didn't understand, then, what he was singing about, but, Lord, I sure did learn to. One Hank story: My uncle was on the Tennessee Highway Patrol from the late-40s to mid-50s. He was stationed in Rutledge, TN. The night Hank died, they were radioed that Hank had just left Knoxville and to keep an eye out for his Cadillac as it came through. My uncle said it was a quiet, cold, snowy night, that night. No other cars on the road....until that powder-blue Cadillac passed through town on Hwy 11.

This was a heartfelt tribute, I could hear it in you as you read the tombstones. My father worked for ASCAP back in the 50's /60's and I, in the 60's growing up, knew Hank's music very well. I just want to acknowledge the chronic pain in which you spoke about, that he suffered. Sufferers are very aware, if not, they should be, that 'any' dose of painkiller can be a final one. Where does one think many words of pain he sang about came from? From his constant state of 'being.' It cheats you, robs you of a life that will never be complete and always has strings attached. He was speaking to God Almighty in that song, I know, I've lived there, especially the third verse. It's only superficially a song about being sad & 'alone,' to others, never afflicted. Internally he was a sad man who understood God gave him so much but, he also keeps your heart through trials and tribulations, so we don't stray too far from the path. I think Hank was a sweet gift, if only briefly on earth, he still lives on, how lucky is that! Thanks Jordan, it was a touching video.

I went there last year. I found it rather interesting that you filmed stuff in the museum. When we came they told us we couldn’t take any pictures, so you possibly had to sneak and take your videos. The best part was getting to visit Ole Hank. I’ve been wanting to pay my respects to him for over 45 years. It was the high point of my life.

I am at a loss for words, Jordan. Your style of story telling is part of your gifting, and as you talked about Hank, I was so moved; it really touched my heart. I loved everything: from the details of the Nudie suit on his statue, to seeing his and Audrey’s graves, and the beautiful messages from their children engraved on the backs of their gravestones. I also enjoyed the trip through the museum, though sad when seeing the car he died in. He left a tremendous legacy of songs for us to enjoy. Thank you for taking us along and sharing this with us.

Hank Williams will always be a legend for his impact on the music world. I grew up listening to his songs and can sing many by heart. Seeing the death car was surreal. Very well done vlog, and the grave portion was very respectfully done Jordan. As you were walking around the grave and naming the songs carved in the headstone, I started singing them in my head. Excellent Job as always. Thank you for sharing!

I'm sure his and Audrey's rocky relationship had some to do with Hank's drinking, but even more so was the fact that he had spina bifida which pained him greatly, so he'd drink to also help relieve his pain.

I didn't grow up listening to country music, but I have heard about Hank. He was born with the same birth defect that I was, Spina Bifida. I have the most severe form and he had the "least" severe form (side note:John Mellencamp has it, too). However, like you mentioned he was plagued with back pain most of his life. Most people with his form of it usually aren't diagnosed until they are adults, so he probably wasn't getting proper treatment. It is a shame that he died so young, but his music has, obviously, resonated with a lot of people for many years.

I saw Hank Williams Jr. in concert twice back in the 1980's and he put on an awesome show. If I recall correctly Hank Williams was scheduled to preform at the Hippodrome Theatre here in Baltimore Maryland but apparently was on a drinking binge and ended up being a no show. I don't know if you've ever heard it but listen to a song called " The Ride " by David Allen Coe. Keep up the good work and be safe.

This was one of the coolest vlogs you've done. Hank Williams is like one of the best of the classic country singers and songwriters. So sad how his life would be

I have lived in Shreveport my whole life and I don't don't live far from The Municipal Auditorium, where the Louisiana Hayride took place. Claude King is my cousin from my dad's side of the family, and on my mom's side of the family I'm also cousin's with Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, and Jimmy Swagart. The Municipal Auditorium is the home of James Burton's Music Foundation. James was Elvis Presley's guitar player. He recently passed away and it was a very sad day here in Shreveport. Recently Hank Williams Sr.'s house in Bossier City on Modica street was recently torn down. My great grandparents lived next door to Hank lived with his second wife. There's a lot of history here.
