"Simple, but lacks spirit." A quote from Prof. Lester Delgado during the composition class where the writer is taught under, is exactly what described to this song. "Sentimental Thoughts" is written in F-minor, which basically explains that it's a sad song that tackles doubt, misunderstanding and misery that the first person has experienced. Albeit only had a repeating chord progression of V-vi-iii/I-IV, the last chorus of the song layered many voices, making it polyphonic. On the said part, it is one of Hank's signature style in his music vocally.
"Sentimental Thoughts" is a second single off Hank's next album "A Wonder Odyssey", releasing Christmas 2022.
