A similar Skybus project was suspended in India. It was built in Margoa(Madgaon), Goa. In it's test trials it met with an accident resulting in death of 1 employee and injury of 3 employees. Even after being permitted by experts, the whole 11KM project was suspended due to a suspected political deterrence.

It didn't fail it was trial and the accident was due to human error.....and when the investigation was completed and it was ready to be rectified and completed......by then the govt in centre got changes UPA came to power and they never released any funds for this It was a dream project of Vajpayee and the then western railways zone head

It was a success. Yes, the accident did take place but not due to failure of the project. It was scuttled by then railway minister Nitish kumar out of jealousy. He wanted it to shift to Bihar. The idea was to build a line from the then proposed Mopa airport to Margao. Also Railways had received a proposal to build a track in Madina or Mecca.

In India too the concept of hanging train was proposed by Skybus Metro Railcar but it never entered into the service. An accident happened during its construction in Goa, and then later on it was suspended forever.

These hanging trains have the advantage where the required poles can be constructed in crowded city areas too over a smaller place and the railway bogies can run over the crowded place. Land acquisition for small areas becomes comparatively easier. The routes can be kept straight and short. The lower part of the already constructed over bridges can be accomodated. These electric run railways can save energy cost per person travelling.

Indian tested this in 2004 but due to accident the project stopped. Now again government is launching skybus project currently in 5 city but it will take 2years for completion.🇮🇳🇮🇳

Konkan railways had launched a similar sky bus in Goa but it didn't get approval because of political interference. This was safer & much cheaper than the metro train . However if the project cost goes down then how will these politicians make money 😂😂

Very few know that this actually existed in India during 2000s that too completely made up completely with indian technologies It was one of the dream project of Atal Vihar Vajpayee and then west railways zone head.....even the testing track of it still exists in goa in some bits Sadly due to an human error in applying brakes during the trial phases it got an accident....and then the project was halted for the investigation of the incidents....and by the time when it was ready to be rectified and complete the trials the govt changed Congress UPA govt came to power and they never released any funds for it after that and it went rusting on the test tracks with no use :(

This isnt some scrappy monorail, its older than those and runs on regular track, just suspended.

Ur wrong in almost every point here. Its a commuting system in a very densly populated area. metro/subway isnt an option there, due to very hard bedrock. Its also not cheaper, or why would nearly any other city use metro over this?

Wuppertal is a very densely populated, long-stretched city that's situated in a narrow river valley. It carries over 80,000 people every day, so much for "less densely populated areas".
