These challenges are quite entertaining but they do hinder the fact that adaptation usually takes a lot more time to occur and there should be off days to recover, specially on untrained populations. I'm just saying this because, as a personal trainer, most people who approach me to start working out actually believe in one week transformations which is not realistic. Other than this, this guy is a great inspiration and I love his stuff

Fridays - (1) hold an Olympic bar in both hands about shoulder width and turn over the top one hand at a time for 60 seconds. (2) hang for 60 seconds on a horizontal bar (3) turn the Olympic bar in the other direction for 60 seconds. You will definitely feel a burn. Wednesdays - Farmers walk with 30kg dumbbells. Got to the point I could chain 80lbs to me and get 1 or two pull ups depending on the day I'd try it. But diaphragm would always kill me doing them even after 2 months, I fell out of it

I saw a post last night talking about the benefits of hanging. This morning in the gym I did five minutes of hanging in total at one minute intervals my hands are pretty sore. But my driving motivator was my lack of shoulder mobility. I’m not sure what caused it over the years but I can’t even get my arms up anywhere near my ears unless I’m hanging. I have hope that it’ll help with that and some lower back pain that I’ve had ever since I had children. I felt silly just hang in there But I’m really excited to see what benefits I notice. My goal is seven minutes in total each day

It sounds like we could leverage the same work to a bigger/easier gain... Why don't we try 7 over 13 days? One day of rest between every workout... I cant help but think no recovery is your biggest killer here, also instead of 50 seconds and taper when you begin to fail, go 25 up 10 down 25 up to get 1000 faster, then on rest days perhaps a single hang to failure? I'm thinking the distributed approach could triple your gain at end of cycle. Just a thought ...

@@lucastruesdale9004 you’re absolutely right. But you could focus way better if all you’re doing is focusing on hanging instead of focusing on hanging and keeping your feet up so it doesn’t touch the ground.

Beet root powder is the shiz. Love it. Ps. Your channel is great. I kinda wish you’d do some of your stuff for a month or more…. I mean I guess it’s more that I wish I WOULD do some of these challenges for a month or more… in fact I found this video as I was trying to see if anyone had done this for a longer period of time… with a slower build up for the body to adapt…. Anyway in conclusion I really appreciate your videos and your channel and your inspiration. Thanks.

Talking to myself as I am watching and formulating my own challenge… feel free to read along. I think doing something to a defined time with defined on and off rests like emom with 20 or 30 on and 40 or 30 rest for a defined amount of time may be a good way to do this with a gentler build up. Neurological load on grip to failure is gnarly and I commend this dude for doing it this way, but being a older dude with always an on injury, I think building up hanging volume without going to failure is going to be very important…. Building up to 1000 seconds over the course of 15 to 30 days which… somewhere around 35 minutes of a workout with 30 seconds hang emom…. Could be a start with 5 min emom, add a minute daily for 30 days. Then look at where to go from there… maybe increasing the time on each day after that…

It's good for sports like soccer, football and tennis but other than that you're just agility training for the sake of it.
