Thank you! This tutorial solved my problem! I was able to remove the arm without having to destroy it using the nail to push out the pin. Brilliant!

Thank you--you saved my project! It turned out my arm had no pin, and bending the hinge back and forth a few times broke it right off--so much easier than trying to detach the whole hinge mechanism from the backing.
