Hang your large sword on your wall (how to)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Want to hang your large sword on your wall? This video is a how to that hopefully will show you how and be a bit enjoyable as well. My son went to DragonCON in Atlanta and bought Zabuza's sword Kubikiribōchō. No, not Zabuza's actual sword Kubikiribōchō, only a replica. It's really big and weighs in at just under 12 pounds. Up until now he had it sitting in his closet where no one even knew he had it. That’s about to change as I’m going to build a sword wall hanger to hang is large sword on his wall. I’m using only the scraps I had left over from my red oak queen bed frame I built from Matthias Wandel’s plans. I hope you sit a spell, take your shoes off, and yall come back, ya hear.

I just got a FF7 Remake Replica, and it is huge and weighs about 20lbs, I have been looking for something exactly like this! thank you! Quick question, can you make a horizontal mount? Or is that a no go for huge swords?

No reason you can't. We just thought ours would look better vertical and we didn't really have the wall space for horizontal. Let me know how yours turns out.

Yep! Name of sword is the executioner blade. The name of the first person who owned it was Zabuza Momochi.

I'm trying to find a way to display a sword upright....I received a sword of omens (thundercats) approximately 40 inches in height. Most wall mounts I've seen just let the sword hang down but I want the blade up so the symbol is the right direction. How would I go about that? I have cerebral palsy so I'm needing something that I can just buy and screw in.

hmmm. Without being able to see and measure all the details, and weight it's hard to say. The tough puzzle to solve is that if most of the weight is in the handle then having that on the bottom means you definitely need support at the top of the sword. There are a few things that pop into my head though. 1. Two pieces. One a the bottom to hold the sword at the handle and another small piece at the top to lock in the tip of the sword. 2. Other designs are similar but 1 piece where the main holder is at the bottom holding the handle and at the top a slot to put the tip in or a leather strap to hold it in place. Sounds like a fun challege to figure out, but I would guess there are pre-built sword cases for holding swords vertically with tip up.

I guess it is personal preference but for me that type of sword should be hung horizontally. Personally I would build a type of plaque with two small hooks screwed into it. One right under the handle and the other down the blade. I'd try and make them as small as possible to not take away from the sword. If you don't like having the large "plaque" to mount it, then you could attach the small hooks directly into the wall. These hooks could be made out of wood or you could simply buy brass or chrome hooks from the big box store. Not sure if I explained that well. Hard to explain in only text. Again, just my personal preference on that type of sword. If you want to hang vertically like I hung my big sword, then you could build a very small mount for the wall with two very small pieces to just fit around the blade and let the hilt rest on it. Hope I was at least some help. Let me know what you end up doing.
