HANG OUT WITH ME! Bronte to Bondi Beach walk & visit to Waverley Cemetery. I LOVE A SUNBURNT COUNTRY

#downunder #brontebeach #bondibeach #waverleycemetery #adayinmylife
In today's video, I'm taking you on a scenic coastal walk from Bronte to Bondi Beach. After exploring Bondi, we'll head to Waverley Cemetery in search of the graves of two of Australia's most famous poets. There may even be time to pop into one of my favourite bookstores. I hope you enjoy spending the day with me!

Loved the walk, was nice to see the sun, tis freezing in Melbourne! Another poet, Henry Kendall, is in Waverley; Louisa Lawson, Henry's mother, had started fundraising for a headstone/monument when, at the last moment, an influencer swooped in and took the credit. Louisa is there, too.

I didn't see Henry Kendall's burial place, but I think Louisa Lawson is buried at Rookwood Cemetery, not Waverley. Thanks for tuning in!

Interesting history that Bronte Beach is named after Lord Horatio Nelson, as the Duke of Bronte in Sicily, and not the famous literary sisters. (He obtained the title “in perpetual” in 1799 from the “grateful” King of Sicily, Ferdinand of Bourbon, after Nelson saved his life by suppressing a French-inspired insurrection in Naples.)

I kind of wish it was named after the Bronte sisters! Thanks for watching, Tony.
