This is exactly the kind of entertainment we had in the 80s. We also used to lie flat on the ground and get a friend to hold our arms in front of us, above our heads and slowly descend. Made you feel like you were sinking into the ground, very trippy.

we used to do that too, but another was laying on a couch, step, table or anything with a edge. we would put one leg in the air for a minute or so then my brother would slowly lower my leg until it felt like it was level with the table. but it would still be at something like 35-40 degree so by the time it was level, it felt like it was in the ground. then he would keep going past level off the edge and it just got weirder 🤣. ahhh simple times...

Couldn't get the nose one to work. But building on another posters idea of rolling a piece of paper into a fly sized ball and rolling it in your palms with your fingers crossed works ok. Even better is a small ball, I used a ceramic baking ball (you get pots of them for baking pastry), it worked really well, like there is 2 balls. I found if I looked out of the window at the same time it worked better, looking at what I was doing sort of broke the spell, my brain realised there was only 1 ball.

A similar trick takes advantage of how the arm senses touch but it goes the other way. Get two toothpicks or other thin implements and hold them so the tips are slightly spaced. Get your friend to close their eyes and ask them how many toothpicks they can feel and gently trace the toothpicks along their arm. Closer to the elbow they will only feel 1 but as you get closer to the wrist they will be able to feel both.

Not sure if anyone will see this, but if so, and you've never heard of it, try this one. It actually does work and feels pretty weird. Put your hand against someone else's so just the tips of your fingers and thumb are touching the tips of their fingers and thumb. Now take your other middle finger and thumb and run them up and down the middle fingers of the hands that are touching. The person who showed it to me I think called it the deadhand, or something like that.

we used to do that too, but another was laying on a couch, step, table or anything with a edge. we would put one leg in the air for a minute or so then my brother would slowly lower my leg until it felt like it was level with the table. but it would still be at something like 35-40 degree so by the time it was level, it felt like it was in the ground. then he would keep going past level off the edge and it just got weirder 🤣. ahhh simple times...

“Get a friend and do it yourself” should be the WHOLE trick
"If you don't believe me...get a friend" is how I'm ending all my arguments now
Couldn't get the nose one to work.
I miss the 90s and 80s
I always watched this show whenever I could. I was in my 30's.

The person who showed it to me I think called it the deadhand, or something like that.
