Ғылым және технология

In this Video, I'll be comparing the Rode VideoMicro II to the original VideoMicro (old) and Rode VideoMic NTG. I'll be looking at how they perform, what features they have, and how they compare.

Hi, Michael. That was a very interesting test. What do you think of the difference between the Micro2 and Micro1 after the Micro1 has been gained to match the level of the MIcro2, either at the recording to the mix? Also. What is it you are limiting and why. I only ask as none of your levels sound like they require a limiter in post. Plus, as you aren't post mixing between the sources and your output isn't peaking, it would seem that a limiter is not necessary. What are you editing your audio with? Cheers, Dave.

thanks, appreciate it! So you have to push the original (old) VideoMicro ab it more of course but if your source sound is good and loud so to say you don't really hear anything of the "noise floor", so if your recording is good, you should not have any issues. On the other hand, you have to push the higher frequencies for the VideoMicroII a bit more than with the original old one or the VideoNTG (for my taste at least), but again if ur recording is good, you should not have any issues as well... And regarding the Master Limiter, I used it ( like I do with all projects) to bring the overall level of the Master up, so it's a bit more according to the KZread LUFS Standart so that not too quiet for the upload since I did not use any Compressor or EQ to make it all sound nicer and louder if you know what i mean.

@@MichaelSchmidt_UrbnPxl Thanks, Michael. I'm quite familiar with all three mics. I was just wondering what the use of the limiter for. Cheers, Dave.

Have you had any issues with the wind protection of the Micro II not blocking the wind effectively? Nobody is showing the mic in the wind, except one person, and the wind came right through and ruined the recording. I have a feeling it's an issue, but nobody wants to demonstrate that because they got the mic for free. Also very few people are talking about how hot the signal is, and how it's clipping the input on some cameras. Any comment? Thanks

I did not have that wind issue yet... but i did not use it in heavy winds yet. in terms of the levels ... it's fine for my A7SIII and A7RIII ... but it might e a bit too much for "lower-end" cameras like the Sony ZV1
