Absolutely love this variation of the Seamaster 300M, that bezel really brings it back to its 90's roots evoking the Blancpain Trilogy, Rolex Yacht-Master, UN Marine Diver relieved bezels but it fits the Seamaster design so well! I completely agree about the helium escape valve - it's part of the design and anyone that's watched the James Bond movies the 300M is featured in knows it's just that little bit more special knowing the character would use it to trigger all the different gadgets on the watch in the movie :) Great watch for a great cause, thanks so much for sharing more footage about this Seamaster & Happy New Year!

I already bought it ❤️ it’s a very special Seamaster that has two important things: 1- Special design with OMEGA 90’s bezel 2- Special target that support a great environmental project. In addition, Who doesn’t know the importance of METAS standards, needs to think again of his Watch knowledge. When you’ll meet All Seamaster owners (if not all divers watches) you’ll be so special among them with this watch. Yes It might be a bit thick & heavy but what do you expect from a diver watch, slim and light?!! It’s like asking for a 4x4 with super off-road capabilities but looks like a Mini Cooper convertible 🤣🤣 here you have Engineering, History, Speciality. If you have a choice not to like it, I think you won’t have a reason not to respect the effort behind it. Love you Alex 👏🏼 have a nice new year.

Well said! Thanks for sharing! In fact you need to want to understand what Omega invested in its movement technology in the last years to be able to honor it. The independent METAS certification is open to every Swiss watch manufacturer ... but strange enough no one else dares to do it ... for me today Omega sells the best mass manufactured mechanical movements, ready for THE challenge of the upcoming years and the challenge is called excessive MAGNETIC FIELDS...

Thank you Alexander for a great review. I completely agree with your comment for the release valve, it is part of the Seamaster 300 design and that is it. I have this on my 300M and personally will never use it but also have no issue with it either. If I didn't like it I would have look at alternatives and maybe would have considered something different with a different annoying foible. I think it adds character to the watch. We are all entitled to our different views on this though and that is absolutely fine. I like the way the titanium bezel insert has been implemented giving a more tactile feeling for the user as opposed to the flat (but very readable) ceramic insert of my 300M that only has the luminous pip to navigate by using touch. I also have no problem with the omission of the date on this watch as it keeps the symmetry for the tool watch aesthetic. I also like the second hand in red that matches the Seamaster text on the dial. It might be worth noting that the dial characteristics are the reverse of most of some of the other Seamaster 300M divers (including the chronograph) in that the thinner waves on this one have a reflective surface where as the others the thicker waves are more reflective on others. Not an issue for me but thought I'd point it out that this dial is not a direct cut and paste from other Seamasters. I really like the case back design, the sloping non symmetrical sandy background with the sub landing disrupting the sandy waves a little. The Naiad alignment lock is the icing on the cake for this case back. That Omega continues to sponsor items like preservation and other things is good in my humble opinion and the watch may cost more to help that. Oh and hopefully have a better 2021 everyone!

@@WatchAdvisor I do not know the exact anatomy of seamaster 300 but it seems to me that many companies increase sizes on watches (divers included) not only because of technical requirements but also because of the trend for bigger and bigger watches nowadays. Caliber 8800 is 26mm in diameter so I would imagine that omega could manage something smaller than 42mm but maybe I am wrong on that. Happy New Year Alexander. Thank you for your video. I think the grade 5 titanium bezel gives the design a nice look. Why do you think they chose titanium over stainless? I have the old SMP, ref. 2531.80 and i am thinking to buy the new one. It's going to be Nekton edition or the steel-sedna gold one. I like the no-date and mate dial on this one, but on the other hand i also like open case back and that beautiful sedna gold accents on the two tone SMP. Regardless which one i buy it's going to be on a rubber strap, because this non-tapering bracelet and a chunky clasp on new SMP's are big no-no for me.

@@cashinhand I agree with you, there are many watches way more complex/durable than the Nekton at a fraction of the thickness. The Nekton is not only thick, it looks thicker than it is due to its cylindrical case shape, other manufacturers such as Rolex and Grand Seiko are way better at making thickness not show as much on the case of a watch.

Date complication is one of the most important complication for me on a watch. I need it too for real life situation as I tend to forget the date easily and has to recheck it every now and then 😂(as a watch lover, looking at the phone for date and time doesn't count 😆)

Rolex Yachtmaster feel. To be fair it’s a handsome enough piece but the bracelet needs an adjustment mechanism and tapering would be more elegant. The movement is decent and the lack of date window should be a crowd pleaser. Best bit - my soccer team colours! Will reserve judgement until I see it in the metal and I’ve given up on Rolex as they are now made of unobtainium. Not so keen on the helium valve.
