    I used a stand alone scale to verify (it measures .02gn) and it was pretty consistently close. Usually no more than .04 off…more often than not dead on or .02 off. Close enough for my standards. If I was doing benchrest I’d probably manually trickle up the last .10grains to get it dead on but for $300, it really does a good job

    The more that consumers ask for actual performance figures, the less they end up paying for marketing fluff and worthless gimmicks. I am aware that Gavin is getting benefits for the marketing activities he participates in, but he is also smart enough to keep up if the industry focus moves to raw performance over loyalty to "red vs blue vs green".

    Yes, I would like to see that also. I verify my RCBS Lite Charge master on Gem Pro 250 which has finer resolution and problem I see is that when you start its spot on, lets say 24.0 and latter I might see 23.94 its still within 0.1gr but the drift bugs me.

  • @DimaProk

    @DimaProk

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@Marzoochi Not necessary, typically my RCBS lite chargemaster will be .02 - .04 below target but pretty consistent with .04 - .06 gr variance at most. Also I have FX-120 and it fluctuates more than my Gem Pro 250, I don't know why but I've had numbers change when you pickup and put the pan down even with screen guard and I've seen where numbers will kind of flip back and forth let's say between .02 and .04gr, I even seen that in other people's videos. Also static has been a problem with the glass pan and fine ball powder, when I dump it out, some powder is still stuck to the bottom which throws the weight off by 0.1- 0.2gr.

  • @Mark-uq9km
    @Mark-uq9km2 жыл бұрын

    Appears to be a very nice and easy and accurate scale to use. I have always wanted something like this but could never justify the cost. I calibrate a powder scale to dump a load several tenths of a grain less than my charge target. I dump the charge into the Hornady digital scale and then easily trickle the remaining few tenths into the pan then dump the charge back into the case. It is actually quicker than the electronic dispenser but definitely more labor intensive. To each their own. Each step in reloading, from decapping, resizing, trimming, chamfering, priming is all a labor of love and I never grow tired of any of the steps to know I've reloaded a quality round.

    I bought one 2 days ago and love it. I did have an issue of drifting readings and it wouldn't throw an accurate charge. I was trying everything and it would take a long time to calibrate or sometimes wouldn't calibrate at all. I took the red pan off and right at the back one kernel of 4831 got down in the crack and that was the problem. I got it out and all is well, but be careful about getting powder or anything else in there. I made a dust cover for whole unit when its not in use.

    Been using this for about 6 months now. Works well. If I find it to have issues with charge error, I just slow down the speed. Real easy to do. You can adjust how it measures out the majority of the charge and set it to trickle the last bit. This allows for nice accurate charges. It will keep measuring out powder until it meets set target. The measurement system is sensitive finding charges that are over and displays error accurately. It then stops and requires you to handle the error. I compare charges periodically by weighing on a different scale to make sure they match. Nicely accurate. The only bitch I have is the powder drain can be messy if you don't pay complete attention when you are draining it. But it's a small matter considering what you are getting.

    I had a RCBS and after about 3 yrs I turned it on and the Despenser motor would not work, scale works but RCBS does not repair I called and emailed the company that did their repairs and after 4 weeks still no reply! I trashed it and bought the Hornady pro the First one not sure if it was dropped in shipping but it would not calibrate . I eventually saw the issue, the split tube that protrudes up that you set the red base into, was up against the side of the unit thus not allowing it to get an accurate weight during calibration! I tried to push it over with my hands, it did move just enough for it to pass the calibration phase but I couldn’t trust it. I returned it to Midway for refund and ordered another! It should be coming in any day now! From what I’m seeing it will be a nice addition! I’ll give an update when I unpack it!

    Mine works flawlessly & I am very pleased. I use it for my competition rounds, where no charge variance is acceptable. I still use a traditional powder throw for volume rounds, as it is faster to dispense directly into the casing & a 10th grain variance one way or the other, is acceptable. (Charge weights align precisely to my more expensive Pact scale)

    How well does it work with longer stick powders Like the IMR that will not run in my Dillon. I would like faster reloading in some of my rifle cartridges. With some of my magnum powders becoming harder to get I may need to run a few IMR longer extruded powders. Just don't want to waist the money

    You need to check each charge on a balance beam scale or a digital scale. I find that my Auto Charge Pro typically throws 0.1 over the setting. Occasionally I have to scoop out a minor amount or trickle in a tiny bit to hit the exact weight. It is still much faster than any one of my powder measures with a trickle charge.
