Amazing
I've noticed more of the lateral motion when I practice incorporating all of my fingers for the pull/flick. I've been using my thumb and index finger just as a fulcrum. Then isolating and practicing with each of the other fingers one at a time. It's been slowly cleaning up where my tips are hitting.

Release pressure to the thumb by raising the index finger a bit and involving more the middle finger
