Respect for the hard working people, A brush is necessary when applying the glue and not the poor boy's finger.

Hand is always better than the brush when applying thd glue, also after a while the glue will damage the brush

Recently I got the soles of my leather shoes replaced by one such cobbler in India. He also replaced portions of the inner lining that had worn out with leather. The new soles were pasted as well as sewed in place. Total cost of material and labour was only Rs. 500 ($6). In this video the soles are pasted and not stitched. So after a couple of years they will come out. But not an issue as they can be pasted and stitched in place quite inexpensively

For the service you received, it was worth x10 the price.
Exceptional craftsmanship. I was always interested/amazed at shoe making. These craftsmen work in somewhat primitive conditions and produce such work. Imagine what they could do in an updated shop.

What do you think these poor craftsmen should be happy or proud about? Their ultra-low-paying job? Or this undervalued and hard-labour work? Actually, them just belonging to a specific community makes your brain find ways to mock and insult them! But Alhamdulillah, this bs won't effect an inch.

True it's low level shoe production but their tech consists of a washing machine motor grinder a couple pieces of iron, some wood forms, a hammer and the little wooden oven to warm and soften the shoes and soles and maybe make a cheese sandwich for lunch. It is amazing.
