Franz Stangassinger from Berchtesgaden makes Lederhosen, the traditional leather pants from Bavaria. His family-run business has a history going back some 120 years. Stangassinger's customers appreciate his hand-made products, even if it comes at a price - up to €2,500 a pair.Stangassinger wants to preserve the traditional Bavarian designs, as does his clientele from all across Europe. And every year in the run-up to Munich's Oktoberfest, his order books always fill up. Report by Thomas Mandlmeyer.

Bill Sutherland Here- Franz Stangassers father made mine back in 1978- -and I still have them! But the announcer needs to practice how to pronounce, “Berchtesgaden,” !

No she doesn't. It's a common mistake even made by 95% of Germans to prounce it '-gaRden', there's no 'R' in it, never was, and never will be. t. born and raised there
