Handmade Horse Harnesses

Location: Saskatchewan, Canada
Features: Brad Funk runs a harness making business called The Livery Stable. He has a herd of Percheron Heavy Horses. One of his horse drawn vehicles is a Chore Sled. It is equipped with a winch for working with round bales. Since he works daily with horses, he understands what it takes to make a harness product from a practical standpoint. All of his harness making equipment is manually operated. In fact, he runs a leather creasing machine that was originally patented in 1867. He has tried electric machines and tools, but prefers manual equipment because it is more precise. He makes harness materials for sale and also repairs all types of harnesses.

Thanks for making these videos, im a 21 year old swedish guy who randomly found this channel, and you have never disapointed me and everything you film is very interesting!
my great grand father was a harness maker in Clifton Mills WVa in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. he came over with my great great grand parents from Germany in 1854. He died on the 4th of July in 1910 or thereabouts. definitely pretty much a lost art.
When you retire I would love to buy all of your equipment.
