is 18kt gold, the color of gold depends on the type of alloy that is used. I normaly use alloy produced by Legorgroup. On the Legorgroup website you can find various types of alloys with different features.

Great job again , thanks for sharing your skills . One question , why you don't use a nail clipper to trimm the prongs ?
@scaffoal
6 жыл бұрын
because while the majority of the gems is harder than steel, many gems are fragile at pressure. Cutting the claw with the pincer creates a slight pressure, and sometimes the gem is chipped. Also each craftsman has his own beliefs, which may differ from person to person, depends on past experience
@machiavelli976
6 жыл бұрын
scaffoal , ok I got your point . I use to make my own tools and therefore my clipper has the jaws straight polished to the external side , in order to avoid the distortion of the cut . The inner side is angle sharped and the stress of cutting is oriented backwards . My concern was if not by accident , the saw might chop some gem's edges . Thanks for your answer !

nice craftsmanship! Question about the diamond's property, when you were sawing off the prongs with diamonds sitting in it, would u touch the diamond with your saw blade accidentally? If you do, will that leave any scratch marks on the diamond?

nope. diamond is virtually unscratchable by what is probably a high tensile steel blade

+J Riette There are production systems using the specific 3D printers for small jobs with very high definition. If you do not have the practice of manual processing, it can definitely be a very good approach since the castings obtained by 3d samples are particularly detailed and require very little finishing touches. In Italy there are schools both public and private courses that make jewelery. The best thing you definitely have access to a workshop that will teach you the basics. It can also be interesting to contact some big Showhouse: Cartier, Bulgari, Damiani etc. and see if you need a figure like yours in their group.

This is a beautifully made engagement ring, and your craftsmanship is marvelous. However, strictly from *my own* opinion, I think doing without the two "cathedrals" along the side would leave a much cleaner design. Something about them kind of makes that part of the ring look like an after-thought. But, like I said, that's strictly my own opinion. The work, as I said before, is marvelous, and I admire your skill and imagination. Please continue to provide us with examples of your beautiful art work in future.

The scars build up calluses to make the skin tougher on the ends of the fingers. It takes time, and passion for the work to tolerate it while that happens. Unfortunately, trying to keep the skin soft in those areas only prolongs the process. My grandfather was a bench jeweler, and did lots of creative work, which required that this happen. He also did a lot of lapidary work, faceting beautiful diamonds, colored precious gems, and polished and cabachoned semi-precious stones, too. My grandmother always called the scars and calluses his "wounds of battle" with the tools of his trade.

was there a ring inside the ring? im wondering does that ring maybe act like a sizing agent that can be taken out later when they want the ring bigger? that would be genius.

I just love watching u create such beautiful jewelry... now us lay ppl can see all the hard work that goes in to producing such fine fine jewelry...Wish I could afford it. I’d love to have some type of 18k gold pinky ring...maybe of the medical caduceus, u know the 2 snakes wrapped around a staff...and wings outstretched at the top...take care sir and keep creating...thank u so much...I have a few loose precious and semi-precious stone. I.e. blue sapphire, peridots, and garnets ...maybe I can pay u to do something with them...oh I also bought a nice raw opal...

absolutely beautiful! may i ask what karat gold this is or how you got that beautiful white/yellow color in the gold? does the solder add the hue? thank you for such wonderful pieces
@scaffoal

is 18kt gold, the color of gold depends on the type of alloy that is used. I normaly use alloy produced by Legorgroup. On the Legorgroup website you can find various types of alloys with different features.
wow absolutely stunning workmanship, how long has it taken you to get to that level ? it definitely made me appreciate the time and effort to create such a work of art, i doubt i will ever look at a handmade ring the same way again. keep up the videos, very worthwhile

Great job again , thanks for sharing your skills . One question , why you don't use a nail clipper to trimm the prongs ?
@scaffoal
6 жыл бұрын
because while the majority of the gems is harder than steel, many gems are fragile at pressure. Cutting the claw with the pincer creates a slight pressure, and sometimes the gem is chipped. Also each craftsman has his own beliefs, which may differ from person to person, depends on past experience
@machiavelli976

scaffoal , ok I got your point .

@AliCarbovader

nope. diamond is virtually unscratchable by what is probably a high tensile steel blade

It can also be interesting to contact some big Showhouse: Cartier, Bulgari, Damiani etc. and see if you need a figure like yours in their group.
the skills you display are those of a master Jeweler sir! my most sincre compliments

My grandmother always called the scars and calluses his "wounds of battle" with the tools of his trade.
what was he putting to make them stick together? Is that some kind of a glue or it that the excess small gold?
