Handmade Bushcraft Knife Restoration
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project! I found this rusty handmade bushcraft knife at a flea market. Most likely, this knife was made of high-carbon steel a long time ago. It's not very rare that I come across such items. The shape of the knife is suitable for hiking and for working in the forest. Well, let's start the restoration!

My first duty was to dismantle the old knife handle. Next, the first layer of rust was removed with an iron brush. After it was placed in a rust remover, washed, dried and oiled... everything is as usual. I treated the surface of the knife with an iron wire brush and began adjusting the cutting edge. I made new bevels for the knife. Then sanded the cutting edge via sand papers and etched an interesting sign on the knife.
Next, I made the comfortable handle of the knife out of wood and brass pins. Also, I made a leather sheath leather for the knife with a suspension, for wearing on a belt.
And I made an interesting knife test for you. Thank you for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!

It’s nice seeing someone using a refurbished tool with gusto! Excellently done as always. Nice seeing the blade stand up to the abuse that it can possibly go through.
Ви знову нас дивуєте якістю своєї роботи. Дуже агресивний "тест-драйв" для такого ножа, але він впорався на 100% 🙂

One of my favorite love it !
You even made a choil and a beat paw etching… your skillset is getting more impressive day by day =) Although, I have to admit I don't really like the curve of the blade's edge. Makes it near impossible to cut something on a board well.
Great restoration!
🤩EXCELLENT AS USUAL
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
Дядька, зачёт
To finish the knot on your saddle stitch, go through one layer on each side and put the knot in between them. It hides the knot and makes it look cleaner. I really like your channel. It's fall where I live and I get an urge to build knives then, weird....

As always, great work and entertaining video. I don't think we've seen you make a paper pattern for your leather pieces before. Definitely cheaper to make a mistake on paper than the leather!
It was sooooo cool, well all the restoration was it. Hey, one question... wich glue use in the leather? is it the same epoxy that you use on wood?
@ScrewsAndTools
Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for attention. No, I use a completely different glue for the skin. It is designed for cardboard, paper, leather, plastic and wood. For example, for pasting the sheath of thin leather there I also use a different glue.
At 6:09 yes it was! 🤣
